been there done that, blizzard isnt some official government sanctioned ran company or something, its just a little editing and you get what you want, and blizzard gets what they want in the end (more money).

Why don't you try calling them? I was in the same situation (fake name, mistyped my security answer during registration). I was able to call them, tell them what name I registered it under, my payment info, etc and they unlocked my acct and told me my security answer. However it may depend on the rep you get.

Hey droid, honest question here. You have a lot of strong opinions on what blizzard does or does not ban for. May I ask how you know this information? Not being snarky here, genuinely curious. There is a lot of information out there and I would like to think I have some idea what is correct.

yep done it. photoshop your real id and change your name. super easy. not a government agency so who cares. all they do is glance at it

Because they asked for it, and I did ring them and explained myself, but they said they need proof of ownership

it doesnt matter anyway, I have the account unlocked now, I guessed the answer, I realized I mis-read the question upon account creation
