Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy

This account was closed because one or more characters were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for "real-world" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy.

Even if this is the result of account sharing, the account owner can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.

We've found the above behaviour is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/services/anti-gold/

The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask you take a moment to review these terms at http://eu.blizzard.com/company/legal/index.html. Any recurring subscriptions on this account have been suspended to prevent further monetary charges.

So, a few conclusions I can make from this "test":

  • I've 100% NEVER been player reported. (Never missed a single in-game whisper)
  • I've helped people do quests, had chats in-game frequently etc.
  • This account is about 8-9 days old. (it's like 1 year old but I ressed it, didnt have any chars on it tho).
  • I've bought 1 month RaF playtime about 3 days ago, but with paypal so no in-game transactions.
  • There were about 5 other obvious botters in Uldum, they've dissapeared (they were non-stop also) so we can conclude bans come in "mini-waves" (Instead of 10-15 ppl in uldum all the time there are only 3 now, the others were 100% botters because bot-hunters were spamming their names in general chat etc etc)
  • I've NEVER sold gold yet. (Only leveled 80 -> 85, done archeology, done bg's, did some herbing/mining in different zones all the time - got 30k gold only).
  • I was selling most of my herbs through CoD with in-game mail.
  • This is also my first INSTA ban on this account, never had a warning or anything before.

So, this is an auto-ban, non-player report related, using a couple of filters most likely:
  • How long I've been online within a week. (Long on this account)
  • That I've had AH transactions. (Not an excessive ammount, 100~ish per day isn't that extreme imo)
  • That I've had mail transactions? (A lot of in-between mailing, a lot of CoD sales)
  • That I looted a lot of the same items?

I actually didn't bot last night, because I had a bad feeling about it, and this morning at 11:00~ish the mail was in my mailbox (hadn't been online for 10 hours already).

Edit; So I got unbanned within 10 mins after contacting them, definately an auto-ban.

I think there were some rumors about how many items you get, such as Whiptail. It was said that if you pick an amount of the same item (somewhat above 1k I guess), you get some sort of flag and you'll be investigated. I think that turned out to be not true, though.
Mails won't get you banned. I used to bot 20 hours a day for a week, sent all cods to private buyers (excessive amounts). Didn't have a single auction up ever.

You don't, necessarily, have to be whispered to be reported.

For all we know, and as popular of a bot hangout as Uldum is, there could be GMs regularly popping in and out to check people. If there is one current common theme it sure seems to be Uldum.

Got my acc unbanned already, lol.

Like within 10 minutes of my ticket.

Made some kind of panic~ish one, saying what do i do, pls help is my account stuck?? can you open it pls??

Anyone has a clue if I can safely bot again? I want to level up a char now, will I have a flag on my acc or anything alike?

I don't bot uldum anymore. I can gather elementium "almost" as efficient in twilight highlands... too risky.

It felt risky, because there were SO many.

Like if I were a GM, I would cruise through servers wiping Uldum clean, you can easily catch tons of botters/hour then if a GM would do it like that.

And like this dude on same server as me.

he is ALWAYS in Uldum.
No matter when i log my account he's there.

I think we can categorize him as stupid ;)

Uldum

Yeah, Uldum is quite a mess. I've switched plenty of profiles because I kept getting in the exact same paths as others(also obvious botters). Guess it didn't help and still got busted. In a week or so I'm just going to mine in Twilight Highlands.

Soon Uldum will be the perfect spot since problem will be moved to TH ...

Herbing/Mining with the Vash'jir Megaroute gets me the best g/hr and i rarely bump into anyone since its so big. Obsidium sells well also and Azshera's Veil n Stormvine are nice gold. Its been my main alternative to Uldum as i agree its far to risky to bot there now.

My accounts I just had banned for teh second time in 4 days have never even been to uldum. That place was a botter central months ago. It just has something to do with gathering in the same zone for so long. These people who say its not the bot I have blah blah accounts running right now for so long just havent been hit yet or are on some pretty low realms. Your time is coming is what you should be getting from these. And everyone going to each of these ban threads flaming like SecretofMonostat with his dumbass picture. Especially when he has
"Thanks to each and everyone who puts any effort in HonorBuddy" in his sig and we are asked to make these threads

I could give 2 shits less about losing my accounts but trolling these threads is a douchebag move

You got banned, not of using bot, but "Abuse of the Economy" which means you destroyed the normal prices of some items in the auctionhouse, causing that blizz supended your account, i think they wanted to give you signal, that you shouldnt sell too many items for very low prices, take amounts for example infernoruby of 1-5 with lower prices max. -10-50g of the lowest and you will never get problems, whiptail and some other herbs should be sould in stacks and sell maximum 5 stacks.

The negative effect is, that you need more time to earn money from the auctionhouse, but youre doing it safe, low risk to get banned.

no, its automatic mail blizz sands for gold trading, botting
guess u dont read this forum, so please dont spread false info

I think you didnt read what blizz sends him, he set 100 auctions, in the last few days, which affects the economy, so please dont be tard.

imagine one gets mats from maunal gathering and post tons of auctions below normal price, will he get banned ?
he botted those mats, thats why he got cought

many ppl who bot and post zero auctions get banned and recieve exactly same e-mail from blizzard
thats the case bro, anyone else will confirm this

seems you are pretty unexperienced so no need to thank me for free education

I would like to hear from some ppl who r using 20+ Accounts, how often they recieved mass bans in last Month + how often they restarted their bots .. And especially what relogger they r using. Cuz im Using about 6-8 Accounts at a time right now and i got some mass bans in last weeks and sometimes i had a feeling it had to do with some critical errors on wow or some other relogg problems.

Hi guys,

I've bought the bot but never used it, not yet anyway since I don't want to risk anything before reading everything about how to set it up and what to consider to avoid a ban hammer. However reading many posts on this forum, I want to make an imput regarding the amount of items one can put on auction house. I make gold by farming AH, that is to say by buying items cheap and reselling them for the market price. I can have 3000 to 4000 auctions at the same time every day. I have also at some point got mats from some one who bots and flooded the AH with them undercutting everyone else. I've done this for two months now and haven't had any issues yet.

With that said, if there was an automatic function in the game to ban some one with many items at AH, then I should have been auto banned by now. But as I said before, I don't bot, so maybe there is a combination of some factors that matters.
