Less than 24 hours after I was whispered by a player that he had reported me for running a mining bot (GB2), my account was closed. I've appealed the action and I'm hoping it's reversed. It was the typical "abuse of the economy" ban. I never did any type of gold selling, just botting.

Phone, phone, phone, phone, phone, phone Blizzard and say you've been hacked.
Email forms do nothing.

Don't be shy!

I got a question on that... surely Bliz could tell that you weren't hacked... nothing in the account would look irregular at all other than the activity that got you reported. Your hardware and IP would be consistant.

Wouldn't it be better just to call and claim utter ignorance as to why you've been shut down... that you were just there playing like you always do and then the next thing you know, your account is banned? Basically pull a "WTF Over" and let them determine what possibly happened. I'm just thinking that if you call and claim you've been hacked and nothing supports it, then it looks like you're pulling a con on them... but if you plead ignorance of what's going on, then it looks more like you truly are a nub that has no clue.

When i got banned i said

I am assuming i got hacked I received a banned notice

I came back from not playing for awhile and used a 7 day free pass i played very briefly and then haven't touched it since and i finally have some free time now so i was going to re activate my account when I saw i am banned. So I looked through my email and saw a notice on the 17th that i had a 72 hour suspension for exploiting/hacking? and I am banned... I have had my account hacked a few times but never banned I have had this account 6 years or so.

I would really hate to lose all that time playing.

Thanks

Honestly i have found if you just whine enough on the phone and act dumb they will unban it.

I used the webform and just asked for reinstatement saying I didn't know why I was banned. They reactivated it right away probably because I've been playing for years without incident. I was just surprised the ban happened so fast after I was reported, and it was an account closure instead of a 72 hour ban. I learned my lesson. I'm only going to bot on an account I don't want to lose -- expensive, but worth it.

BTW, the toon that reported me is on a mission to report other bots. He's a NELF that melds / stealths near a node so bots still land there even if no ninja, then he follows them, then he whispers, then he reports. I've seen him bragging about it in chat.

Report him for harassment lol

Reporting for harassment opens everyone up
To see what is going on so that is not a good idea at all
