i can't find this information anywhere. i got 6month banned and i got a new account and leveled some chars to 100. i never once used HB for ANYTHING other than CR's for pvp (and i never used any inturrupt or obvious ability useage) and i was wondering if whatever caused the detection that spawned thisbanwave has been addressed. i plan on continueing to use HB in the same way i have. i know i will get banned eventually again when another detection goes along, but i've never been reported as far as i am aware, i want to know if i will be instantaniously banned if i launch and use HB again. or when it is safe to do so (i know its not always going to be safe in the long run, but i mean i am not goign to use HB if i get banned instantly.)

tl:dr if i use only CR's with no obvious functions could i at least get a few months of play or will i get instantly banned?

Many users are using HB and are not being instantly banned. Does that mean it won't happen to you? No, it doesn't....There's always that possibility, but you more than likely won't be banned instantly.

you dont need any information other than "does HB work". if it works then it as safe as always. which means not safe, because botting is never safe.

As far as I know Blizz is still doing most of their bans in mass or ban waves. You should not be insta-banned, but none of us can say for sure.

I'm quite certain HB is detected. There are people that claimed to have only used HB for gather mine/herb at their garrison for an hour or so a day. There are also a few people that claimed to have never actually turned HB on. I read a post where a user said he bought the bot, installed it, ran it, but never hit the start button on the bot. If those claims are true then those folks were not reported for botting, Blizz detected them somehow. There were also posts of interactions with customer service/GMs where the GMs suggested that they could see the HB program running.

This is all hearsay, only Blizz knows for sure. My bet is that the bot is detected and we will continue to see big ban waves on a regular basis. The reason I think everyone is not caught is because their detection method is similar to running a debug. It is likely data and resource intensive, so they don't run it all the time. Who knows, I certainly don't. My days of using HB are over though :)

To answer shortly to your tl:dr : yes if you do that with in a PVE environment, and most likely in PVP environment as long as you don't start running up the ladder and getting noticed, as well as setting it up correctly, but I'd stay away from pvp complety

Obviously no bot is "100% safe" but using it cautiously will help.

You can get suspended/banned from multiple user's reporting you (which is common in PvP if you are running the SAME EXACT path as the 5 other dudes running BGBuddy) and then you can get banned from a banwave. Just be cautious, it's the best you can do.

this is what i thought and the kind of information i fear, i'm nearly positive that hb is detected, and i think it's a little disconcerting that we're allowed to use it so soon, i know it's our account and our risk, but i really would like to see some work done on it to try to revamp it's design to ensure to the best of anyone's knowledge it isn't detected

it is very annoying how ignorant people are and how so many would rather sit around on these threads making guesses and coming up with their own stupid theories, oblivious to the fact that the developers have given all the information you need including a running commentary of what caused the detection and what steps they took to fix it.

OP you obviously did not look very far, since you even added your own emphasis to the word "anywhere" I can only assume you suffer with some form of retardation:

Actually i read that post the day it was posted, and i even posted in the thread, at the time that i did read it there was no information regarding what exactly caused the ban and if at all it was addressed, thank you for pointing out that it was updated with more than a placeholder message of "we're sorry you got banned"

you could have done it would out being an assumptive prick though :)

edit - no it's still just a generic placeholder "we dont know, we're sorry" message. there's no concrete information in that post.

honorbuddy never posts a concrete answer as they do not want blizzard to know they caught onto their ways - you have all the information you will ever know in that post - any other information is just speculation and should not be considered correct.

lol, look at this keyboard warrior. Come at me bro! ROFLMAO

Such hate spewed in that post. I love how he references the announcement thread as a source of information where Bossland outlined "what caused the detection" and "what steps they took to fix it".

Here are a few excerpts from that Bossland post:

Raphus said:
We do NOT know for sure what caused the banwave
Raphus said:
Tripwire service was not running
Raphus said:
we strongly believe the tripwire service would have been able to catch the detection

This is the post where they explained what caused the detection and what steps they took to fix it? This is the same response they made after the last banwave.... We have no idea what happened, but we are confident Tripwire will work....then they don't even have a check in place to make sure tripwire is running :D
