I've been interested in using DB so I've been browsing the forum for info but there are a few things I just wanted a solid answer to. Now I know botting period runs the risk of getting banned but from what I've gathered keeping botting hours per down low and using proper profiles greatly minimizes the risk. Is this true? I would only use be using one bot for no more than 5-7 hours per day. Anything further would be me actually playing. Also, how do I know if a profile is ok to use or not? Are they generally reported to be high risk once it is known?

I have two bots that has been botting since summer, both of them only 12 hours a day. They've also been used for goldfarming in the beginning, as well as using the RMAH. The only people getting banned consistently seems to be those that bot 24/7, but then again some of them have slipped through the banwaves since day 1.
6 hours a day? That should be perfectly fine, probably won't even register for them. As for safe profiles... well none are truly safe unless you make your own, but generally they are randomized enough if you stick with a Champ farming one.
The only bot that I have gotten banned was when i used a Wretched Queen's leveling profile which was not so smart on my part. Should always level 1 - 60 by hand, or use the Full Questing profile.
