"A botters everyday" - A diary and (maybe) a guide about botting.

Helloes there,

I was a raid botter because i am having fun with that. Lately, i got problems with my guild and one of the best friend in game, so i am thinking about starting to gold farm lately. I have 2 accounts at the moment, one of them has my mains on it, so i think i will not bot on that with the aim of gold farming. On the other hand, i have an account that has a 90 hunter and it is inactive for like 5-6 months. All toons are located at high population servers.

I have couple of questions for gold farming-and about botting generally;

I do not bot while i am not on the computer, i bot only when i can monitor the bot. And i am being online like 6 hours a day. Is it safe to have one account that will fully gather that whole time?

I heard that Druids are best for gathering because of flying form, not getting stuck, no mount-up time etc. But does it worth to level a brand new druid for just gathering? (I never played a druid before, if i like it i can play that toon for raiding purposes too.)

Do you think how much i can make with just gathering but no shuffler? Because i am a real blonde about that shuffling thing (i am a blonde in real life too but it is irrelevant ), i tried to do before but it did not worked for me.

Hi Firsthit :)

Botting is never safe, so if you are not prepared to lose your account, do not bot on it.
However, 6 hours are not that much per day, so I do not think it would be that "unsafe" to bot all 6 hours. I have no problems botting 12 hours in one run, but other can have.

My favorite farming class are defiantly a Druid, since it have Flight Form, and can mount instant and gather herbs without it needing to dismount. You have to count the 7 day leveling time with, it could potential - on a good server - farm around 60? in that time, but again it's a good investing to get a Druid.

Well, with no shuffling I see Ghost Iron Ore go for around 50g/stack on a good server, so that is around 40g/stack lesser than if you do the shuffling, so that would be kinda stupid :D Nevertheless, if you cannot figure out how to do the shuffling, just let the bot do it! Go look on the forum, and you might find a profile that you can use :)

I understand botting is not safe anyway ofcourse. I am going to look for shuffling profiles when i go home. My logic works like this; I am already paying Blizz for my main toons subs, I can start to farm gold flying low, when i earned my first 70?, i can make another for only for bot, maybe a third account. This is kind of revenge situation from Blizzard i want my money back :D I think my computer is capable of run up to 7-8 wow's at the same time. I will start to invest on gold farming/buddy keys soon.
 
Out of curiocity and having never purchased game time for gold before, how much roughly is a 30 day (or 60) game card? I appreciate servers may vary, just curious as to how much gold approx I'd be looking at?

US: 30-80k
EU: 45-80k

the gold price right now is quite low, so u might wanna buy gametime when prices go up
 
For 30 days? Seems like quite an expensive way of paying for game time.

Enjoying the diary by the way, certainly one of the best we've seen on here in my opinion.

you can get 1m RAF time very cheap!
on ownedcore there are 2 types of raf time - one that might gets your acc disabled (<3 eur / m) and one that is safe (~10eur /m)

Yeah i'd say raf time isn't like it was before but on the EU servers you could still use it with some effect I believe but on the US server they tend to remove it alot and it's easier to just buy a gametimecard for the same price when it gets removed every time.

If you upload it to another site (or something like a public dropbox folder), you can link it in your avatar settings and it'll work.
 
Do you RAF your new accounts and try keep them together when questing?

Hi Virus,

Sorry to hear your bots got banned, hopefully it is not permanent!!

But you were very cavalier to carry on botting the bots so quickly after their respective 72hr bans... I would have been crapping myself to do so. But then, that's what makes your efforts all the more important.

I find it strange though that in your reasoning for the bans (26th June) you didn't suspect that the bots (or your IP, Mac address) 'may' have been flagged. I'm not saying they were, but I found it strange that you didn't list those possibilities as part of your thought process for the ban.
