Account Action: 72 Hour Suspension
Reason for Action: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Use of Third Party Automation Software

This suspension happened because one or more characters on this account were identified using an unauthorized cheat program, also known as a ""hack."". These programs provide character benefits normally not achievable in the World of Warcraft. Such benefits include, but are not limited to, increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries. Use of these unauthorized programs harm the game environment because they offer an unfair advantage over other players and superscede the intended limits of the game.

Even if this behavior is the result of a third party accessing the account instead of the registered user (for example, a friend, family member, or leveling service) then the account can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.

We've found the above behavior is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/antigold.html

The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask you take a moment to review these terms at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html. Note that additional Terms of Use violations may result in more severe actions against this account, up to and including permanent closure.

For any disputes of this action or further information on Exploitive Activity, please visit the Exploitative Activity FAQ and contact page here: http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/exploitfaq

time to worry yet? or just coincidences?

This happens every few weeks, they go through and hand out 3 days to anyone who has been reported or suspected of anything. It's really nothing to worry about.

Smells like a banwave.

If it was a banwave, it'd be permas, and you'd see HUNDREDS of threads. Not a handful. Think before you post.

I just find it odd; I've botted on numerous occasions several times. Strange to see this many flying through here at one time, at the same time. I'm merely curious, is all. And of course, if they had concrete proof, they'd likely perm. /shrug I'd be curious to the server too, if there were differences between them. But I do realize we're not supposed to share data like that.

I've been watching the forums closely since I started botting, and like I mentioned before, I see this happen at least once a month where they just hand out tons of 3-days. A scare tactic, if anything. First time I saw it happen, I got hit by it as well and shit my pants. Last one was 2-3 weeks ago, roughly same time of day, but it was a Thursday iirc. It's like they just get a backlog of reports or whatever, then go through and just throw 3days at all the ones they can't prove, but suspect or something. Who knows. It is strange, though.

It could just be due to the nature of the system. I can't speak for wow specifically, but in a huge, massively distributed & fault-tolerant database system (containing potentially hundreds of servers tied together through replication) it's common to batch up incoming change requests from various servers, then apply them & replicate them all at once.

The only 72h bans I have ever had perm banned are gold selling accounts. All my botting accounts that have been hit with 72hours in the past have never been perm banned. This is because its hard for them to perm ban without any concrete proof. They hope the 72hour ban scares you and stops you for awhile. Its all a tactic. I had a 72h ban on an account last wave 3 weeks ago and the pally was only lvl 22. I dinged 80 yesterday botting 24/7 for the most part. (Knock on Wood)
