I dont think 24/07 might really get banned , here is my theory , things that might get you banned:

1: Long time without supervising the bot , long time playing with inactivity on chat
2:TALKING ABOUT BOTTING ON CHAT , FRIENDS ON DIABLO 3 ETC.(obvious)
3:Having multiple accounts , and running a good ammount of instances of diablo 3 at the same time from the same ip.(pretty obvious you'll get banned from that)
4:Using AH bots , too much loaded exploits Autoits etc(Obvious)
5:Making godly profit on AH , you didnt do it , and suddenly you start doing it.

....

My theories on not getting banned:

1: Dont do any of the statements above of course
2: Bot normally around around 15 to 20 hours a day even 24/07 take some time to socialize
3: Take some time to do uber runs by yourself , with friends... etc. key runs...

Following this advices and taking care you'll not get banned.

Thats all i can say , good luck

I would not suggest the socializing part. If you don't talk in chat, and you do not ever join public games, then no one has any reason to see your profile. If you catch anyone's interest, and they view your profile, they have a good chance of noticing you are a bot. Most bots stick out. They are a high level of paragon in a very short amount of time(compared to most people), often wearing gear that others of the same paragon level would not (gold find, pickup radius, and just not to the quality level of most 50+ paragons), and generally have the gold achievements very close together.

I will not speak in chat on my bots ever, and I will not join a public game. The only people who ever see them are members of JSP when I sell gold or items to them, and that seriously limits the amount of people that ever see me, plus they are generally there only for the purpose of buying the gold \ item from me and don't take the time to go through my profile. I also remove them from friends after I finish buying \ selling.

I really dont understand what you're saying about getting their intereste on you , talking on chat and joining public games is kinda something a normal player would do , if you dont do it im pretty sure you're gonna be flagged you dont have to stay in the shadows , just act normal , join public games , OFC DONT BOT IN PUBLIC GAMES , and also socialize in help chat , dont socializing and 24/07 botting without saying a single word in chats , looks alot to me like mechanic gameing = bot = flagged

Sorry but there is just no logic in your theory , they will get interested in you if you act on the shadows , not if you act normal

It's not "in the shadows". Not everyone talks in the public channels. There are plenty of players who only talk in their own private vent / mumble / ts.

If you talk in public chat, you just increase the chances of random people checking out your profile and figuring out you are playing on a bot account. Blizz is not running checks to make sure that people are being social (they would flag tons of legit players that way), but players can make connections based on what they see on your profile.

1. Most of my bots haven't typed a single thing in chat.
2. I actually had a so called friend on my list who kept whispering me about botting. He even had the balls to whisper over and over "XXXXX has made $XXX from botting!". Luckily, I was online when he did that shit and removed him promptly. That was over 3 months ago now.
3. All my bots run on the same IP, no VMWARE and no other means of changing IP, Hardware ID, etc...
4. I actually used an AH bot for 2 weeks before discovering DB.
5. Definitely have done that. :)

I'm not trying to disprove you per se. I just wanted to let you know that all those things have happened/been done on my accounts and I'm still kicking strong.

However, I'm still against 24/7 botting. I still think 16 - 18 hrs a day is more than enough. If at some point I do get banned I would probably just go to a 24/7 model but I have a few Plvl 100 bots now and I don't want to sacrifice how careful I've been with them. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong; and I can live with it.

hmm yea sure, how will they tell my 170k unbuffed monk is a bot buy looking at profile lol, such a joke...

1. maybe, but i doubt u need to chat to be considered as a legit player by blizzard oO
2. i didnt talk to anybody.
3. some ppl didnt get banned for that, but sure it definitely increases the chances dramatically.
4. didnt use any AH bot and im pretty sure most of the ppl that were banned didnt use any AH bot.
5. my mule account (sold on GAH and on RMAH on this acc) survived all of the the times blizz banned my chars.

if some1 sees ur online 24/7 and u never answer him then he will probably report u for botting.
so imo socializing can only increase ur chance to get banned (obviously talking about chatting with ppl u dont know).

Well sure , but random people cannot see you're online , really , only your friend list , so put it up on busy and go roll the hammer :) !!!

And how the hell would they figure this out? by a profile check?

And how the hell would they figure this out? by a profile check?

Yes. I can look at a random profile and generally identify if it is a bot or not.

Bots are generally newer characters with a high paragon level compared to how long they have been 60.

Bots usually have the gold collected achievements very close together (like 500k and 1 mil the same day, 5 mil the next day or two, then 10 mil a day or two later).

Bots usually only have one character at 60, then maybe some scattered mule characters.

You can also use the lvl 60 achieve date, or normal mode skeleton king kill, and combine that with the total amount of time playing and find out around how many hours per day it has been played. Just subtract a day off the total time available for each patch since they were created.

Bots often are really undergeared for the amount if time played and paragon level, and use more pickup radius or GF/MF than the average person.

None of those are enough to say 100% someone is a bot, unless you work out 20+ hours a day played for extended periods of time, but they can be enough for someone to report you. And don't even think that no one would take the time to do it. There are tons of people who HATE bots, and if they randomly saw your profile and anything caught their eye, would be willing to look through and report if they think you are botting.

Also, to the guy with a high dps monk, you probably would be less likely to draw attention for this. Most bots aren't high dps though. Like 70-110k or so is common, but not much above that.

^^ only a botter or a person who has some idea about botting can think of all that.

Plenty of people know about botting without being a bitter themselves. I just started to bot recently, and I knew all of that before.

Also, even if someone does bot, I wouldn't be surprised if they report bots on their main account. Fewer other bots = less competition = higher priced gold.
