50m budget, monk or barb

I broke down and put money into game. Have to wait 2-3 days for it to go in. I have barb with paragon 30, rend atm.
Or was thinking would monk be better. Paragon 3.
Im guessing will have about 50mill to spend. From what read barbs are cheaper. I just wanna do what is best. Will run him full time to try to build cash back up. And hopefully profit.

Have been just going slowly trying to save. But seems will never get there.
I dont want to waste cash Im putting in.
Also started 2nd account. Waiting for the 72 hr wait for digital to trade. Plan to copy build to that one with another 50mill.

Or keep cash as cash, and use rmah? Some items I see cheaper there, some cheaper on gold ah.

From the post I been reading barb supposed to be cheaper. Rend where dont need crit as much. Why I have been going rend build. Maybe 8mill invested and can do act 3 MP 0 slowly.
Bought a cheap sword and board to test and sucked without crit.

I have a 35m monk that outperforms all my Rend barbs and is 40 paragon levels lower. I'll be doing monks from now on. One resist to deal with, 4 sec invulnerable. That allows you to focus mostly on how much damage you can do in that 4 second window.

Read that thread once tess. Will go over it again. Give it shot. Guess can always go barb one acct, monk other. See which one better.

The less I spend, the more I can put on DH. Like to use her for gold farming. Makes me feel better when have multiple alts to bot with on same acct. Instead of running 1 non stop. Not sure if safer or not. But makes me feel safer.

For 50M you can get a good sword and board barb that can run a decent WW spec with around 500gph, on higher paragon levels you will be able to invest more because you usually gain around 200-300kph.

After I tried a WW barb I will never go back to sword and board. WW is amazing, even on a budget barb it can still be amazing.

i'd say they both are pretty equal in the 50-100m budget range. i got a monk and a barb in that category and they both pull 20m+ exp/hour and 600+ iph.
the barb scales better after that point imo, if you go 100m+ the ww barb really starts to shine. goin to ~30m exp/hour and 700+ iph.

if you go 20m or less, the monk cannon build is really nice.

and dont even bother rend now, it just lacks the agility of a monk or ww barb and cant keep up with those.

I went ahead and spent gold on the monk build. Ended up costing about 70 mill. I just did the buy out, no sniping. Yes I'm impatient.

So far doing good. Getting 340k-400k gph. Running big red champ farm.

I didn't have act 3 complete so had to finish before started bot. Was pretty fun playing her. My first toon to do over 100k dps. Got a Manticore within first 30min. Hope good sign! Manticore had no dex so scoundrel will enjoy it.

I plan to get gold built back up. Then will do WW barb on acct 2. Put them to test.
