Just so you know in case you want to bot in the future, for this or other games. IP address and MAC Id are not the same thing
MAC address - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In short, MAC ID = Network card ID. This and the 24/7 thing were the only thing which might have "aided" in your ban. If they coded for act2 public profile recognition.. well, good luck to you all :/
No, but an IP address is determined by your MAC address. Two different MAC addresses give two different WAN IP addresses but that's not the point. The point is that it's hard (if not impossible) to collect a MAC address from its IP address, unless Blizzard collects your MAC address (with your premission - because you've agreed to thier rules) and store it on thier server. But it would be a hell of a lot simpler for Blizzard to trace your IP address and check how many client is running. I'm 95% sure Blizzard does this method.
Think about it. If you have two computers (under the same network) used for botting and if Blizzard checks for your MAC address, they won't find anything because both of your computers have different MAC addresses.... You know that all LAN cards have unqiue MAC addresses. However, if they check for your IP address instead... they will see that you're botting on 2 computers because the IP addresses on both computers are VERY VERY similar to each other (e.g. 1st computer is 82.7.175.100 and 2nd computer is 82.7.175.105) Your ISP assigned these IP addresses for you, that's why they are similar.
Chinese farmers usually don't use the same PC to bot more than one account. They usually use more than one computer to bot... And in Blizzard's eyes, chinese farmers are the most obvious to them.
Yup, try running all your accounts with the same registry keys, same hardware id, and maybe same ip? A monkey could tell that you are multing/botting if your accounts ever gets flagged. No human can run a couple of d3 instances manually under different environments at the same time.
Of course all of his accounts used the same IP address. VM emulates everything from your PC hardware, including your very LAN card.
Spoofing your own MAC address is pointless.
My tips:
1) Get a quality and PRIVATE V.P.N that allows you to use the same service on all of your computers simultaneously.
2) Run V.P.N on each VM.
3) Each V.P.N on each VM must be using different IP addresses (different cities, etc.)
4) All of your accounts must be created under the V.P.N's IP addresses
5) Use different names and addresses on your accounts... (to rule out the possbility of Blizzard tracking names and addresses).
Many famous botters use V.P.Ns to bot on games. And it's possible that some V.P.N's Ip addresses are already recorded on Blizzard's servers... That's why it's safer to get a PRIVATE V.P.N. Or look for a V.P.N that give unqiue IP addresses to each customer (this may cost very expensive)
I know what I'm talking about. For example, I used to bot 15 accounts on WoW and the only time I got permbanned was on 1 account this year. 1 year ago or so, I botted 5 accounts and only 1 account got banned too. Banned because of bad luck (player reports). My friend who used the same IP addresses on his 3 accounts, and all of his accounts got banned at the same time. Look at other threads. People have thier whole accounts banned simply because of the IP address issue. If you use the same IP address but only one of your accounts is banned, you are lucky. Sometimes blizzard don't do more checks.
