Alright so I dont know what video card to get.

I know I need 2gb of Vram. I am a bit over budget so I really DONT want to pay more than I need to.

However I do NOT want to compromise performance. I will be running 16 bots.

Right Now Im Looking At a GTX 660TI for $199.99 Ive price checked this and found it to be about 60$ cheaper than normal. Its a sale and limited time only.

I looked up a GTX650 and found that it was 140$. If forced to choose between the two I would definately pick the 660TI as it is not much more for a whole lot of bang for the buck.

But the real question is can i go cheaper?

Alot of people say 2gb vram is the only requirement for my build. If this is true im pretty sure I could find a 2gb past gen video card for around 40-60$ and save myself 150$

I am running a Radeon 6700 with 1gb of vram in my current botting computer and can run 5 to 6 bots before being bottlenecked by my CPU (With Ram being the next bottleneck). It cost me like 60$ because I got it on sale 4 months ago. Ironically it is currently retailing at around $100-120.

I really want to save money but if I need a video card in the 100$+ category for this build I want to grab the 660ti at 199.99.

Obviously I cant really pick a power supply untill I pick a video card but I really dont know how to shop for a PSU.

I want to push my ik 3770 to a 4.7 overclock. would a coolermaster help for cooling? should I focus on conserving on electricity from power to decrease bot overhead? Is Corsair the best look no further psu?

Really torn here, only 2 parts left but Im in a rut.

Many people have said 660ti or 7870. However these are in the $200+ range.

Can I go cheaper? If not, would one of those 2 be the right choice? If so, which manufacturer to go through?

im interested in this thread, so im gonna keep an eye on it.

first off, in my opinion (yes others have different perspectives) the RAM needs changing. 1866 mhz is overkill for a bot computer. and if i were you i would be 1333 or 1666 max.

is this rig just for botting?i assume so.
so then 256 gb ssd is a bit much. is 60 or 120 not enough?

also in terms of graphics card, id say 660ti is the one to go for. im pretty sure thr radeon one is thr generation before and doesnt perform nearly as well.

what gamr are u botting out of interest?

EDIT: ignore the bit where i talked about RAM capacity :P

Well I got the 1866 because it was cheaper than the 1600 and 1333 at the time. Really was just a get more because you can situation.

Its not Just for botting. It will be replacing my personal computer. 256gb ssd's are actually alot cheaper per GB than 128 and 64's so I just went for it.

You are definately right about the 660ti. After some research I have learned (correct me if I am wrong) that the 660TI is slightly better than the HD Radeon 7950 (Which costs 100$ more).

Would performance on 16+ bots be noticable if I upgraded to the gtx 670? Or would that be Unnessesary?

From everything I have learned so far I am leaning towards the 660ti. it seems (Correct me if I am wrong) the BEST gpu in the Sub 200$ price range. and competetive in the sub 300$ price range.

Botting Diablo 3

Just discovered the GTX 650 is going for 120-130$. Would I get by with one of these with 2gb vram? Would definately help budget wise but dont want to fall short in performance.

A guy with a GTX 660TI said that he is using 1.4gb of vram and 28% Load on 12 bots.

Seems that if that information is correct, a lower end Video Card might be able to do the trick?

hijacking thread attempt...

whered you find 29.99 windows pro...id like that as well :P

Ebay Seller. Auction Was Removed After Buying it. No idea if it even works. Asking the seller if he has more.

UPDATE: Will This Build REQUIRE a video card in the $100 + Category? If so I think I should grab the 660ti as it is a STEAL at $199.99.

IF this build could easily run off a 50-60$ past gen 2gb of vram video card, Maybey I should do that? I am perfectly content with my Radeon 6700 in my current rig. Cost me less than 100$ 4 months ago and it has been able to play any game on max graphics that I have attempted to play.

The 660ti will do well for 20-30bots, go for a palit one (best reviews I seen for this model aside with gigabyte oc version)
Mine was running at max 25% on 7 bots gigabyte oc.
The major problem is that the drivers from the 6xx is defective, sometimes it runs smoothly for 3-4 days others it crashes every 5mins so I would go with radeon or a quadro atm for avoid headaches.

And the ram does make alot of different... but a good ram \/ can save u alot of money. This baby can oc very well.
Newegg.com - Crucial Ballistix Tactical 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT4K8G3D1608ET3LX0

curious to see if you can push 16 when you build them as my comp is almost identical and i can only push 12 w/o cutting productivity for more clients. 70% load under 12 @ 4.4ghz oc with spikes to 80-90 vs multiple molten/arcane etc + mass grid seg resets and random maps.

i plan to bump up to 3.6 in the near future, not sure how much ass that will add but cant hurt.

i can keep 12 steady at 15-17 fps and 10 tps and i dont want to go under that. i screwed up and ran 8 bots on my old i5 at 12 fps and 8 tps for 2 weeks and lost a shitload of $. wont do that again.

i built mine as a successor to my old gaming rig if the botting didnt pan out and im happy with it. next will be pure bot, and more than likely will have an evga 650 ti 2gb for $130 or w/e they are. also going to try either that crucial m4 you got or the samsung pro ssd as the tons of reads on the mpq's slow the game down quite a bit i think. i think random 4k reads are important as well as random writes.

psu .... i have no idea ... i just overbuy them when on sale ... current has a 850w that was black friday newegg for 60% off.

where'd you get 3770k for $260?

If you need that you gonna change the cpu :)
as it only supports 1333/1600, would be a waste to buy 1866 then ;)

hey if i were you i would go with the fx 8150 from AMD for a processor .. it is 8 core... very stable ... even when it is oc... and i would go with a good videocard... i bought the 7950 just because it has 384 biti and 3gb of ram ... and it runs smooth.. i tried this setup with 10 bots.. and the processor is at like 50% and at like 30 degrees with h100 water cooling... and going with a FX 8150 processor is cheaper :D and for the power supply ... u should buy a 750w-850w something... gold if you find at a reasonable price..

A 2GB GTX 285 is faster than a 660ti and can be bought on ebay for under $100

UPDATE: Purchased A Geforce GTX 660Ti 2gb Vram for 179.99.

All thats left is the Power Supply.

I really hope thats not true. -_-

UPDATE: Just got verification. 1866 Works just fine with CPU. Just amounts to very little real world difference. Which means nothing to me as I got the 1866 because it was cheaper (and on a side note matched my color scheme)
