1-50 AFK - I dont get it.

:( I watched this bot complete the story quests from 19-23 last night its apparently capable of doing from 1-35 ( I didn't witness this) at this stage with plans to finish the entire story....

However I don't believe the guys have any intention of releasing there profiles/plugins to the general public.. They make a living of power levelling characters in various MMO's FF14ARR being one of them.. I guess releasing it to the pubic would eat into their profits.

A real shame, I would pay upwards of 300 bucks us for a 1-50 questing profile, they all so have some other really cool profiles.. They said the only issue that holds this bot back is the inability for it to see damage (hence avoid it) and if they could do that, they could make profiles to run dungeons and even raids..

Id say that's a pretty good bot :)

ps... No I will never get access to those profiles don't even ask (it was just a video clip)... I think you would need to sell your sister to get access to this stuff lol

Good things come to those who wait. Questing profiles are not easy to make, they take a lot of time and a lot of testing. I'm sure the bot will be programmed to dodge AoEs in good time as well, I'm sure that's on the list of things that still need to be done, the problem is just that the to-do list is very long.

that comment is a little misleading since it makes it sound like profiles and API are on the same todo list. I'm pretty sure most, if not all, of the quests can be handled by the current API. I'm assuming we can create quest behaviors. Even if we can't, a good oldschool kick style questing project is still totally possible right now.

I'm sure it's all being worked on and will be released as soon as possible.

If you like tools people make, donate. It's the single best way to get people to keep creating more. Everyone wants something for nothing, so developement stops. The way I see it, throwing a dev a couple bucks for saving me dozens of hours is a win for everyone. If I expect it for free, obviously it will be very limited.

Or everyone with a bit of free time could learn some c#/xml and help drive community projects :P

and kind of weird use of tools since I just referred to buddy's api as the tools. If you like comprehensive logic for profiles/crs/plugins, donate.

But I don't think that's the best mindset, if you can just donate your time. You could offer suggestions for rotations with advice on priority/conditions. You could encourage a community effort and complete some of the grunt work if you want questing. Even if you can't program, you can grab the interacts and raw data for quests and work with people to apply the proper syntax and leave the segments which involve questbehaviors/plugins to more experienced programmers.

just telling people to throw money at the problem instead of helping seems a little weird >_>

As is the case with everything in life lol. Either pay someone to do it for you or learn to do it yourself. I don't have the free time right now to learn to code. Wish I wouldn't have pissed away all that free time in my college days logged into FFXI lol. The first year we hade 160+ days logged in (and none of that was afk). Those were the days.
