So, I got an old account from a friend that used to play WoW back in 2006. I did the SOR thing, added Pandaria and Lvled to 90 with archaeology-kicks profiles. Simply farm ghost iron with a druid, fill the GB with the mats and sell to a private buyer with another account.

Here's the catch: my good friend found a way to bug a quest, that makes the character phased forever in the whole area of the Jade forest. I don't know how many ppl know or use this trick, but this simply means that it was not possible of other players to see me, and for me to see them. So, no reports.. I get stuck on a tree/wall, noone knows. Furthermore, all the aggressive mobs do not exist when you are phased, so I farmed at the whole area of Jade forest, changing randombuddy profiles every 10 minutes.

I did this for 5 days, for 3x4 hours daily with breaks. Still I got the banhammer! Tried for an appeal, and now we play the waiting game! Sooooooo frustrated.

3x4 means 12hours daily, or 50% uptime, indeed

People get hammered for less than 6 hours daily nowadays, so no surprice you get hit too. No matter of the profile you use or etc, when you done 12hours of same behaviours, the server side scripts flagged and banned you.

I think we all need to accept we cant afk bot like we use to. I never bot the same thing every day, always change how long I bot, breaks exc and when I start, use the chat and so on... I think this is the way forward.

Reading all the stuff in this forum, I just though it would look more human-like to bot for a predefined number of hours. With the player report out of the equation, and with a really big area to farm, I just simply though that LCP detection was not me either... still I got caught. So I guess the case is : 5 days routine->ban, no matter if you bot 4,12 or 24 hours.

Do you not think that you made yourself a target by running in a perma phased area that you glitched? Your botting to begin with that last thing you wanna do is do it somewhere where the GMs will notice even easier.

Id love to see your ban email. it may not had been the bot that gor you banned but the SOR account. I purchase old SOR ready accounts all the time, and Blizz US banns them 90% of the time, the trick is getting the 85 and getting it transferred before the ban. They have gotten really really strict when it comes to using other people SOR accounts as you say you have done so tit could be from this.

I'm pretty sure that this is an automated email that's sent after a manual investigation by a GM of an account that was flagged by Guardian for suspicious activity. Meaning that you were caught red-handed with the bot.

With the trends of reports, it looks like the best way to go about appealing this particular type of ban is to a) have this be your first and only ban so far, and b) admit to the botting and be apologetic, or say something like "I felt like I had to" for whatever reason... the pressure of a raid guild and lack of time, you owe someone gold, etc. It's not a guarantee (and personally, admitting to botting makes me really wary), but it seems like this is what's working for other people.

However, since it's a SOR account, your chances of getting it unbanned are slim to none. Sorry, man. Like someone said, the best thing to do with SOR accounts is to use it for the free 85, transfer it to a different account, then leave it to get swept.

Guys before you BOT open a ticket and tell them you are in the military and deploying to afghanistan within the next few days, ask them to place you on a white list ( the blizzard white list is a monitored list of people who move country every few weeks, they cannot refuse you this because in Afghanistan the WIFI there is directed through multiple countries their security system will constantly ban your account as they will think you are using a AZN power level company to play your character, this is a genuine story that happened to me, my account was banned 4 times in 2 weeks due to the WIFI connections changing i contacted them and i was placed on a white list for 7 months every 7 months just message them and tell them you have been extended, my account doesn't even lock me from changing IP/computer any more
its a little unsecure as in if someone gets your password there is nothing to stop them from raping your account ( due to no security question requirements or password resets )

It bothers me that they didn't identify any evidence of your botting or the bot itself. They could be just looking at suspicious behaviour and calling it a bot. My understanding is that they cannot inspect your running processes and cannot tell specifically that you are using HB. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I like your idea, but if your only botting from 1 IP, they can tell. Would this be better for a V P N?
