Auth Session is invalid! Has this affected you?

For nearly 4 weeks now, myself along with many others, have suffered through frequent "Auth Session is invalid" shutdowns. I have seen literally dozens upon dozens of people report this same issue, and in nearly every instance we are all getting the same replies....

"Auth session invalid usually stems from network connection issues between you and the buddyauth servers. make sure your not running any applications or anything that could be bogging down your connection or causing issues."

"flush your dns"

"any antivirus enabled? are you on a wireless network? where are you from? "

"power cycle your router"

"make sure port 5031 is open on your home router and software firewall solution."

So HB community, I ask you....have you been affected by this issue? As we cannot post or reply on other HB users support threads, perhaps we can use this post to highlight your frustration with this situation. Perhaps if we have a central thread to spotlight how big this issue is, we can get an actual response from someone here, and then perhaps they can acknowledge this problem and take needed steps to correct it.

So please, join the discussion here if this Auth Session is invalid shutdown has affected you.

Same here.. and only the last couple weeks. Prior to that (and for years), it may have happened a couple times that I didnt notice? But so rarely that I never noticed. Twice a year?

I sure hope they don't start blaming our connections/computers and just fix the darn thing. At this point its happening 3+ times per hour, especially in dungeons, which makes HB almost worthless for me :(
 
Yeah it's actually getting really annoying at this point... I've had this issue before a week or so ago and now it seems to be happening all the time.
 
I have also the same problem. It seems to be worse for me around 20.00-23.00 a clock in the evening. It's shuts down with the same message that
all people posts and when you tryes to logon again i takes a few minutes to get back up. For me it has been going on like this for about 10 days now.

And between 20.00-23.00 it maybe closes 3-4 times.

I normaly never complains about stuff since i think they do a realy nice work with the bot. But i think it's strange when 3-4 new posts are about the
"Auth session invalid" and tony asks with the same question about antivirus/firewall when it's clearly some sort of server probblem that hb got.

I receive an error "Auth Session is invalid" for over two weeks now. Occurs multiple times daily. Very disappointing.
 
Happens here too! Reeeeeeally annoying - running CMs -> bot shuts down. going raiding -> bot shuts down. 10mins AFK fishing -> bot shuts down.... come on spot blaming us - its probably HBs fault, fix pls!!
 
This thread is ridiculous. We have reached out to you to try to diagnose the problem (a week ago), and you did not respond to those queries until this morning. 40 minutes after you responded with anything useful you created this thread about us not doing anything.

We are working on the issues and might need direct contact to diagnose if it is indeed not an OVH problem, and see what is going on when you connect to our servers. Can you PM me some contact details (Skype name preferred) and we can see where to go from there.

Once again sorry for the issues and we do apologize.
 
Honestly I have seen all the problems people are having and I am kind of shocked at some of the responses people are giving. This happens after every expansion and takes time to fix, last expansion some of us could not even run for quite a long time after the expansion released and it happens... making a bunch of useless threads like this wont make it go any faster.
 
You already mentioned my post in your support thread. I have the same too still. Specialy in time ranges GMT+1 19:00 to 21:00. Tony said they are on it. Tried also every solution. I even went online due my phones internet, still the same....
For me it is clearly an auth server problem.

With all due respect...I do appreciate your response, as well the efforts you may be taking to fix this issue. You have to understand, from most of us I'm sure, being told repeatedly that the constant invalid session issue is our problem, is beyond frustrating. I never had any issue with HB....none...until a few weeks ago.

I'm actually very busy this coming week, and will be difficult to find much time to assist you. Week after that, I'll be free more to assist if the issue is still ongoing at that point.

Same, you just saying about internet connection and other stuff. But here LOTS ppl from all over the world got same issue, so its not connected with firevals or internet or other stuff... Its only connected with HB ISSUES on ur side.
 
Thread reopened.

We are still looking for people who can consistently reproduce this so we can track down the root cause, and check if it is our service provider or our server software.
If you consistently receive sessions invalids, please send me a PM with your contact details (Skype preferred).

Its gotten better the last couple days, to the point where I can usually go a hour or 2 without it happening... after the next version is working again ill blast it for 2 hours and see if I can reproduce it consistently as before, and if so ill PM you.

If theres anything I can do to increase logging or prepare data of some kind, let me know. Otherwise ill PM if/when I am able to know I can reproduce it easily. (my game updated so I cant bot at the moment)

I am experiencing the same issue, can't reproduce it though. I regularly run 2 bots and play a third account on my pc. One HB session will be fine for hours on end while the other will get the Auth error every couple of minutes. Should have the comparative logs somewhere.
 
Yes it had for weeks. Don't bother messing with your pc, the problem isn't on your end.

They seem to have largely ironed it out though, I went my first 24 hours without it crashing yesterday.

They won't admit it on their end (depending on who you talk to) which is a major misstep equivalent to ignoring a 64bit client even though it will perform better and make bots that much less obvious.

Still - what can ya do. We've made them millionaires and they have such a user base now that they don't need to even entertain anything the comminity has to say stopping short of telling you to go elsewhere if you don't like it.

I've used hb for a long time, and it's superior to many others in many ways... But I'm not blind to its faults. Real talk.
