Demonbuddy Beta infected

Was every beta download infected?

I did use one of the beta versions (289 i think), but Microsoft Security Essentials is not picking anything up on a Quickscan...

How can I know for sure if I am infected
no, i dont think every download as infected, just the beta that started to support minimizing to tray and tray icon.

if you look at this post, he give removal instructions what i did, to make sure everything was fine is looked for the registry keys Step 3, chances are if you dont have any registry keys your not infected and you should be good to go. you can also download and run malwarebytes for free, if your worried about catching everything although its a bit overkill, and even for someone whos as security cautious as i am i was satisfied after that i didnt have it after i didnt find the registry keys.

also change your battle.net password, as chances are you need to do it anyway.

Do you guys have plans to put up a giant warning banner on your forums? this is pretty fucking bad....

I actually have exactly the same BETA build that it says here is infected, so i scanned the map with ESET, zipped the map and scanned on VirusTotal and nothing was found, i went to Temp folder ion the Windows explorer and no file "atixxx" was there, so i guess i downloaded that BETA before someone putted the keylogger in? And was this affected if you updated over the internet (when demonbuddy prompts you), or if you downloaded the whole zip file, or both?

But even if i would get that "virus" and they would have my password, there's no way they could "hack" me since i have mobile authenticator right?

Just wondering, how did the beta get infected? did they hack your servers and altered the files?

yup,you shouldnt have problems if you have an authenticator

as this is somehow the last open topic about the trojan, you guys seem to have no idea when your server was hacked
