I got banned on 12/12/12 US lost my main account i only recently started to bot. I got set up from a friend who has been at this for a while and he only lost 1/2 at first. Then the 12/18/12 banwave he lost his other but the new account i set up a few days ago survived. I was extra careful with the new account and watched it while it ran and saw some VERY strange behavior and wanted to share with you guys to see if anyone else can find this in their logs or maybe someone knows if this is just a bug and has nothing to do with detection. While i was watching my bot got to Cydaea and she became untargetable at about 3/4 health the bot blacklisted her and was locked into the "arena" type area for this fight. The adds were killable but Cydaea couldn't even be hit with AOE attacks. DB kept saying she was blacklisted so i stopped the bot and i couldn't target or hit her either the only way out was to exit the game. I quit that game and played another round by hand then logged out. My concern is how long this would have gone on since the area is closed off and db said something along the lines of "blacklisted #3 out of #15" I stayed in the game after stopping the bot long enough to see that her running away and adds coming out and then her coming back didn't fix the untargetable issue. Never seen anything like that while i played by hand. My paranoid thoughts made me think this was a cheap way for blizz to catch botters because a regular person playing would notice they couldn't target her and town portal/leave game and a bot would try for a while possibly raising a flag.

easiest way to catch db botters : check if inventory was opened when identifieing stuff -> catch everyone on first town visit.

I agree with this.

To the OP I've been thinking they may have added some weird stuff like that to catch us. Things that a regular person will realize and avoid in milliseconds but a bot will spend many minutes attempting the same illogical behavior.

Until the BDev's have some information for us anything is possible at this point.

I think this has a lot to do with it. I had 2 bots make it through the bans and don't know why. But those 2 bots were running NM and not identifying anything.

It would be awesome if that inventory thing was the reason for the bans.
I'd probably die laughing :D

It might sound wiered, but I catched similar behavior.

It wasn't on Cydaea, but on Stonefort. The bot just created a game and went directly into Stonefort, for some reason there was no path, like dead end and as soon as the bot tried to pass it an error message appeared.

The bot dropped the game and created new one.

They might be doing something on their end.
