Hey, I gave Honorbuddy a go yesterday for the first time to see how it went. Using BG Buddy has been handy as hell. However, left it on for most of yesterday during the day and then left it all night only to wake up to a 3 hour ban this morning. I've also seen a lot of other people with the same 3 hour warning bans so I thought it'd be helpful to get some tips off pro's on how NOT to get caught.

I've already noticed a couple of little things that may help.


  • Take breaks from BG's... Just a couple 20 min breaks to break it up a bit.

  • Make sure you change "Random" mounts to a specific mount. Using random mounts is SO obvious. Already seen multiple people riding round on basic mounts at level 90? It's obvious that people on basic mounts are botters. Mines set to Kor'kron.

  • If you can, keep an eye on your bot! If it gets stuck or does something random like, for example, keeps trying to summon a dead pet (Hunters) it's kinda obvious.

  • Also, if you can, say something every once in a while...

If people want to leave some tips I'm sure all us noobs will be very grateful :D
 
Tip of the day, avoid public bg profiles :)

Tip of the week. always keep a watch on your bot, when you know there will be player interaction. Pvp, dungeonmode ect.
 
if you dont wanna get a ban ingame dont do to mutch bg or gatherbuddy if you like me i just quest bot my charachters then i use lazyraider or tyraels with a good custom class and do bg rbg pve raiding healing or dps my self but the most risk to get banned is by doing bg botting automaticly because some people ask you to go somewhere and the bot doesend responds on that. he just walks in a circle. and dont farm for more then 12 hours it wil get u banned some times i had my accounts banned a few times by doing that but now im more safer also botting automateicly for 8 hours should be safe dont grind and also join a guild it makes it more safer to

DON'T BOT ON SHIT YOU DON'T WANT TO LOSE..
 
the only bot I use on my "main" is PB, just 2-3 hours of milling or DE or prospecting and I never got a ban or even a warning
 
I find holy paladin alot safer to bot with compared to retribution.

(Probably same for all classes with heal / dps spec)

All I ever do is say that I suck at healing and trying to improve, no one can really blame me then ^^

Not sure the logic on this thought? I've been working on a HB Ret Pally and got him to lvl 80ish already with no issues. 100%HB.
 
This is going to sound crazy but have conversations with your accounts.

yo blue is that you....yes red its me...more pvp?.... is there anything else to do blue.


did i mention blue has a massive johnson......red you know me so well babe.

Sorry but your "tips" are pretty easy to describe in 1 sentence: "Don't bot 24/7".

There are things that only the Buddy-team can solve e.g. in AV the path in the mountains - only bots are using it or the bad "anti-stuck move". Those are things that should be solved month ago...

You will be banned for running a bot against real players..

Not always true, there's people who use the addon SmartMount.
 
How do you set HB to use a spesific mount? I can type in some numbers but how do I know the mount number?
 
i bot 12 hours a night gather buddy. Just got ot be smart and change up the profiles.
 
I use my basic mounts on my level 90 even when I'm playing. The Dreadsteed looks far cooler on my Warlock than any stupid mammoth or bear. Also it runs across water with Night Mares glyph.

Type the name of your mount in on WoWHead, look at the URL and grab the ID= string. That's the ID.

Where do you find private BG profiles that could be purchased?
