Hey Guys,

I thought some people who are thinking about appealing ban's might be interested in the below information I've found regarding blizzards policies on suspension & banning.

Even according to their own policies they should give you a warning, or suspension before a perm ban, it might be worth while for people to ask for the ban to be changed to a suspension... worst case scenario, they say no, but a heap of people have sent in e-mails and caused a huge increase in their resourcing costs, they would then link bans with higher costs for them and might scale back a bit :P

Check policies linked on that page

Thanks for this, I'd like to know if anyone is successful at attempting this..

I received the same message when I tried to appeal my 2 accounts and this is what they said:

"Hello

A user of this account has recently been involved in actions deemed inappropriate for Diablo III. The action taken on this account was made after a thorough investigation of the situation as a whole, so we can confirm that the evidence presented was correct, and that the subsequent action taken was appropriate in accordance with the Terms of Use (Blizzard Entertainment: Blizzard Legal Documentation).

It is with regret that we have to take this type of action. However, it is in the best interest of the Diablo III community as a whole, and for the integrity of the game, that we have cancelled your access to the Diablo III servers. Our decision in this matter stands, and will not be overturned.
Please note it is our policy never to reveal details regarding account investigations, beyond the information given in the original notice mail, for privacy and security reasons.

If you wish to review our current Rules and Policies, they can be found at:

http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/diablo-iii-policies
http://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/diablo-iii-account-penalties-policy

Any open bids or auctions at the time of the account?s closure have been cancelled. Your open bids will be refunded to your original method of payment. Please allow 5-10 days for processing depending on the availability of your financial institution. Any bids or auctions completed prior to the account?s closure will not be refunded or reversed.

Any heroes or items associated with the account are no longer accessible. The only way to continue playing Diablo III is to purchase a new licence. If you add a new Diablo III licence, the new account will overwrite your old account and any prior heroes or items will be permanently erased.

We understand that these policies may seem harsh, but they are in place to ensure that every player is able to fully enjoy their time spent on Battle.net.

Thank you for respecting our position.

Kind Regards,

Ashlarna

So in other words they just slap a copy/paste text and move on.

they will only respond you with this
Greetings,

Thank you for your continued correspondence. After a thorough final review of the action taken against this account, we have arrived at the same conclusion. The action will not be reversed or changed under any circumstances.

We understand that you may still have concerns regarding the action, but we must reiterate that it was taken to address a violation of the Terms of Use (Blizzard Entertainment:Blizzard Legal Documentation), which all players accept before logging into the game.

As this issue has been reviewed by multiple representatives, it is now considered closed. If you have questions regarding a different account or issue, please feel free to contact us again. However, further inquiries regarding this issue will no longer receive a reply.

LMAO! I just received my appeal response for my ban ; e-mailed back 40 mins later and it was the exact same thing except the bottom was from a North American rep. instead of a Europe rep. and the links were linked to battle net US.

Basically they're going to massively forward a copy+pasted message to us and just sweep it under the rug...that's my hypothesis...

...I'm going to probably just check back on the forums every now and then and uninstall D3 and give up on getting my acct. back but..you've got little to no chance at all of them even taking the time to review the case.

They spotted a botter, and it's just an immediate death sentence basically for our accounts.

Blizz can ban you for botting. No warning required. It is a gross or extreme violation in their eyes.
If anyone is interested in attempting to get your account back, good luck. I tried to get a wow account back for over 2 years. 50+ emails, same response, always.

sue them for what?...for not being able to bot forever?

Someone should sue them.

Don't be naive.
You are exploiting their software and you think you have a legal ground to sue them?

Next time, when you DDoS some site, try to sue them as well afterwards :D

I want proof that it was me who botted. They can't proof that, they are just too braindead to understand my appeal.

If I don't get my account back in the next 24hrs, I'm gonna write a nice letter to my tax officials. Don't know about your country, but mine has stupid tax laws and the rmah stuff is actually against some tax laws.

Good luck with that.

However, you have to understand that they are not banning the owner of the account, but the account that was used for botting. The owner is irrelevant here.

The best thing you can hope to achieve is Blizzard disallowing the use of RMAH in your country. Your fellow citizens sure will be thankful :D

My account got ban yesterday, but...
BEFORE i start botting (4 weeks ago), i change the email/battletag & password... with different IP (no SMS alert no authenticator)
Now, i open a ticket with the initial mail of the account to say "can't connect to my account, dont understand, i just found a mail from battle.net with "email change confirmation"... i was on holiday ! i didin't see this mail !"
Did you think is gonna work ? i mean... im a casual gamer, i just finish diablo one time... and now i want to play and my account doesnt work ?!!! :D :D :D
Argh... i know.. im "responsible" of the security of my email and computer... but i was on holiday in Spain !

The fun fact, im logged with the "hacker ip" on the "hacked account" and i can see the ticket from the "victim" ... And on the victim side, no mail, nothing... im just thinking about the real victim from a hacker they cant do nothing :)

HF !
(sorry for my english)

as far as i know u only get a confitmation mail at the new email account when u change it

Tried something similar, but they were too dumb to understand my appeal. You only have one try. Either they understand your appeal or you get an dumb answer which says: "No further messages will be answered blablabalba"

LOL i just saw the answer ticket about my "hacked account" : They talk about the D3 BAN ... they haven't read my real complain about b.net account hack ! i use 2 ip, one for complainer, one for the real hacker... how bizarre it is...
