Hey guys, i was just wondering, if blizzard would scan the CTM movement...
of course, on the ground it could happen, that if you perform a manually farming run, click the same coords a couple times, but especially in air while flying, its next to impossible to click the coords this perfect :S
dunno if i'm just paranoid, but i think its suggestable that chars which such CTM movement recorded are bots.

whats your opinion on this?

I don't think they can. The entire click to move is client side...but i think they can tell where you move, just not exact coord. Either way, there are people botting for years and years and years and don't get banned, its just about being smart :)

whay to check if you are using CMT or not?

the option is there for users to use it

The point I think he was trying to make is that a normal person can not use CTM while flying, it clicks the ground. So CTM is not useable to fly, like GB2 uses it.

he does have a point tony, i mean really what normal sane person uses click to move?. Only bots use CTM, now if they can detect if your using it or not im sure they can, but if they are gonna do it im not sure. But all blizzard would have to do is ban everyone using CTM and i bet 99% of them are bots NO! REAL PERSON USES CTM.

But as of now just using CTM is not illegal, but whos to say blizz catches on and find out that only bots use this. If you find me one legit player that uses CTM ill retract this statement. Ive been playing wow since 2004, even though CTM was introduced in WoTLK?? i think?? maybe BC?, cant remember but i know it wasnt in Vanilla, i have never hear of one legit player who didnt bot use CTM, its unheard of, hell most of wow community does not even know CTM exists let alone how to turn it on and use it.

no one uses it because wow has to much clicking and when using CTM i notice it myself, i misclick a lot when its on, use it for a day youll see what i mean, I F'ING HATE CTM! :P

From most of the gaming community that i know would rather use button press movement over mouse click movement anyday, its just not practical to much error with a mouse, tell me how many times you recall yourself clicking the X on the window instead of minimize LOL!!

If any of you play DOTA/HoN/LoL you will know what im talking about on using CTM to move, how many times have you mis clicked and screwed up in these games.

Also, I use CTM quite frequently. Because of botting I have grown to love it. During raids is a perfect example, right click where I need to go and be done with it. I actually prefer this over manual movement.

yea you found it due to botting, but i bet you would probably not have used it otherwise nor i bet would you use it outside of a raid/dungeon and its not even practical to use it in dungeons either IMO, press 1 button instead of grab, drag, point, click seems a lot more less stressful on my hand :P.

I use CTM as well. I think it was the bot who pointed this out to me... but i use it a lot now. Sure i misclick sometimes and walk where i don't want to, but overall i like it. =]

i'd say more of the point is the exact path the CTM uses is often at odds with "as the crow flies" when it maintains altitude by following drops only to climb back up again over the next hill instead of just flying straight ahead. I would also place myself in the bot-induced CTM user that I often leave it on while playing especially if I'm flying somewhere far off.

theres better ways to detect bots then just using the very inaccurate CTM monitoring.

I asked this question aswell for some time ago, and responses like, many players play legit with CTM.

I am sorry, but you are generally wrong. I know tons of people using CTM, including myself. And I am around since April of 2005, but started botting less than 2 years ago.

I am lazy ass, like millions of people, I believe, and CTM is great for my lazyness! Just click where u wanna fly and go afk for few minutes.

Fly on autorun is not safe since WOTLK. As TBC people remember, the Outland have boundaries w/o fatique zone, but since wotlk, every new fly zone, including Azeroth will make you die off fatique if you autorun to the boundaries.

I think hitmanace was overstepping to be able to say what he did, I mean anyone can make up statistics like me. I'm in the top 1% of people sat in my seat typing this post.

If you use CTM cause your lazy. Your a baddie.

EDIT: ESPECIALLY IN A RAID. I always know when someone is using CTM and I whisper them turn that shit off in my raids. Worst thing ever for a DPS to be using. No use even arguing about it.

i use click to move all the time, even when i was hardcore raiding i left it on, because it was easy enough to click off in the direction i needed to head and then spin my camera and click on a unit or player that i needed to cast a spell on or whatever.

when rift came out, i FREAKING HATED not having click to move. it annoyed the hell out of me.

click to move outside of boting is sth like = backpedaling/keyboardturning/lolclicking... its slow, noobie, antipvp.
I wonder what would be the impact on boting if this feature would be gone one day :)

Uhhhh if you're a melee DPS and not using CTM, then you are severely hurting yourself. The ability to literally right click on a moving mob and auto-follow so you can maintain your rotation is a god-send, not to mention instant-facing when your camera is spun so you can watch raid mechanics elsewhere. (Eg; your toon being spun around not facing the mob, 1 click and you're facing it, instead of the requirement of dragging your mouse)

Same holds true for ranged now, considering the "attack" action stops you near max-range.

Just because you can't figure out how to make CTM useful, doesn't make it bad. There are quite a few top-tier raiders who use CTM. (There's a few in my guild, including myself, who use it all the time. And yes, we've cleared HMs)

Exactly I think blizzard could detect/makethingsdifficult for botters if they wanted to I mean their dev teams have the man power to do so but is it really worth all that hassle?

I think they would much rather use their devs to work on projects and let their legal teams deal with the opposing companys such as honorbuddy.

but you are rite no real player uses CTM especially to fly!!! have u tried it its so damm hard...
