Here is the realness; Diablo3 was made to be botter friendly. Blizz made D3 so that bots would not only flourish, but they made the game so that botters can make money directly through the game, without selling items to any third party. Cmon, implementing a real money auction house where you can sell your items and gold for real money, get a paypal account and you?re golden. Blizz loves botters, Blizz counts on botters, why, because we make them shitt tons of cash.

The fact that so many of us all got banned at the same time just tells me that they had a mega list of already known botter accounts figured out. For months we have been allowed to bot and make money. Why the hammer then if they love botters so much? Why didn?t they ban us 1 by 1 as they found us out? Here is why, they had to make a statement. The statement; ?botters will not be tolerated!? Blizz had to make the statement for all those winey cry babies that don?t bot. If you have been reading the D3 forum for the past few weeks, you know that there have been a mass amount of forum threads complaining, crying, screaming that there are so many botters and how it?s ruining the game. Blizz bans a shit ton of bots all at once so its big news, good job blizz, down with the botters. Now that the babies are satisfied, we can resume botting and blizz can continue to collect.

My brain hurts

BLZ loves money, botters have money, does BLZ love botters?
you eat meat, pigs have meat, do you love pig?

I will only add that Blizz also likes that botters buy new accounts ;)

Or maybe it costs them money to pay employees to determine who is botting and who is not.

I am pretty sure the reason why blizzard does mass deletes is because of the heavy load on the database. Constantly deleting characters and all their items would most likely cause a lot of tables to recreate their indexes and wouldn't be practical. Blizzard's long database maintenance is most likely for the same type of reason. They probably flag weapons, items, gems, etc.... that no longer exist to be deleted and every tuesday they finally delete them all during maintenance so indexes can be rebuilt without conflicts. This is why maintenance takes so long!

I don't know when the mass deletes happen but i would think it is safe to assume that mass deletes occur during database maintenance. They might flag your account to be deleted which prevents you from logging in and then finally do the dirty work during the maintenance. Of course nothing is ever deleted, they probably remove the data from the live tables and add it to an archive table.

Ok forgive me for being stupid here, But how do players even know you bot when you can run the game solo .?
Now I know I will have probably missed some really obvious indicator here.
So can someone slap me round the face and tell me. plz.
I don't mind a PM if you don't want to make me look like a complete and utter fool for asking.

your bot interacts with the game in ways blizzard does not allow through their interface. An example is a cut scene i have seen a bot start fighting a monster during a cut scene. Blizzard can catch these types of situations and no for sure its a bot or something using a hack.

I think it is cute that you guys think blizzard makes a lot of money off of you rebuying their game. Although this might be the case it is VERY VERY unlikely. Do you realize the thousands to millions of dollars blizzard spends on stopping bots? Think about what an average salary of an employee is, let's say around 40k a year. Blizzard is probably paying multiple employees to monitor botting and these employees are also in meeting with managers etc to talk about the botting. Employees are very expensive a lot more expensive than a $40 game in which blizzard doesn't even get the entire $40. Employee's making $20+ an hour are a hell of a lot more expensive than a few hundred botters.

Not sure what this has to do with the topic, but there are a couple ways another player would know you’re a botter.

1. You tell them, I have a few friends on my main account that brag.
2. Player suspicion, your friends can see when you are actively online in the friends list. When the friend list shows that you are always online running act3 inferno 24/7 it raises a red flag to people.

I am sure there are more, but you get the idea. I think there is even a profile that runs in a public group, so I've heard. there has been many complaints about bots joining groups and getting reported.
