Just wondering if this has been discussed or thought about. It's getting a bit tough going through the forums and seeing so many routes/behaviors being "handicapped" versions of ones that you need to "donate" $15 for the full version of. Seems like HB is a bit more expensive than just buying the key now-a-days.. Is there any way it's possible for people who develop the really great profiles/routines to be rewarded by HB instead of having to charge pretty crazy prices for their stuff?
A way for developers of popular profiles/etc to be rewarded?

there are plenty, more or less directly advertised @ the forums, as the rule "offer a free gimp-cc, then you can offer a paid version which does the same but more!" states.
yes, it's sad. Gladly, there are still good CCs which do not require payment.
It seems kinda hard to find. Every CC I want at the moment, seems to be broken/not being updated/not good compared to the version you get by paying $15. I'm actually so tired of it I'm currently looking into PQR, trying to figure out if it's safe to use or not.

Yea, paying for someones work is like, wtf? We should trade weapons for food instead.
All I know is that when I started using HB just a few months ago in May, it wasn't like this. Literally, every working thing I've wanted to download has been a gimp version of something that is paid. When I was here before, that wasn't allowed, people were asking for donations, not saying you can't have my product unless you donate.
Already paid for Honorbuddy. I'm willing to donate to developers who make the work I like, but wanting to charge me near to the full amount of an HB license for your profile or routine? I think that's a little out of hand.

Developers doesn't get a penny from Honorbuddy. They payed for their product. They put their time in learning. They release a free version and a paid version. What is the problem?
Learn how to do it yourself if it doesn't work for you.
It took me a few minutes to find a payed profile, I found this:

And $40 for the best version isn't much at all if you want the best of the best. Imagine the amount of time this person put in his work.

This isn't the same bot with slightly more features if you pay. This is a public release profile for questing and leveling, and then a completely different profile for endgame use. I do use free things. I really enjoyed CLU and Shamwow back when I was using HB the first time around.
I'm not saying I need the best of the best, but when all of the profiles fit for raiding require donations the size of a HB subscription to pay, it makes Lazyraider/Raidbot seem worthless to me.
You're welcome to disagree. I do think that people should get something for their time. Notice how my thread isn't saying "Stop these people from trying to make money from making good profiles!" It's called "A way for developers to be rewarded from HB". I just don't think that I should need to shell out $100 to get the profiles I want to use HB.

I haven't searched, link me 3 combat routines that costs $50 or more.
Honorbuddy is community driven, some people ask for money some doesn't, mostly doesn't.
If you want to see the profiles that cost money, go look through the forums. They're all over.

developers do this in their free time, its no paid job or anything.
i strongly disagree on required donations for the use. If you want to get payed, sell it somewhere else. Selling is forbidden on the forums. (oh wait, we discussed this a hundred times... till someone said; gimp cc free, paid cc ok - bullshit in my eyes, but hey. cant change it.)
i strongly agree on donating to CCs plugins you like, because you LIKE TO SHOW "hey, i like your work! here, take this beer!"

I have no problem paying 20$ for a great profile or giving a donation if it motivates the developer to make it even better. Which free profiles are you refering to as "gimped" by the way? The only one I've paid for here is Tuanha's, and he has a damn good free version of his profile while the paid is more customizable. I think this thread is ridiculous, you just want everything for free dont you? Lazy leecher...

indeed this was the idea once, but it seems it goes down the drain, and soon there will be the majority paid.
Although I don't feel the need to talk about what phone I use, I think it's completely different.
When you go to something called an "APP STORE", you should be expecting to pay for apps.
When you go on a forum where people are posting their CCs/profiles and the rule is that you're not allowed to charge for them, you shouldn't be expecting to pay for CCs/profiles.

It's so bad to pay for plugin, profiles and such. It's a work which you are proud of, and want many other to enjoy.
I wish i could program.. I have tried a little, but i'm not so good at it..
Nah, IMO it should be no "donations blabla get extra", it's just foolish and redicolus..
Buy stuff from china instead, and sell on Ebay or something instead..
I would NEVER buy anything (or take charge for something), it's just.. i get kinda mad seriosly..
And stated in my sign, i'm from Sweden, and i know i have misspelled very much, but you know what i mean anyway.
