I'm going to send my HD7950 back because the fans make weird sounds, the model I got has expired so I gotta pick a new card. I'm currently running 6 bots on 6 virtual machines and would like to know what graphic card is the cheapest that can pull that off without lag. I'm currently thinking about the HD7850? That would save me about 100? or so and since I dont use the graphic card for anything else then botting, it would be nice.

I am running a 7850 which works fine, I am still not sure if it may be a bit too powerful, I have a feeling a 7770 would work just fine, hoping to test this soon.

Running with or without VMware and how many bots are you running? Would be perfect if I could get a passive card, but the best passive I could find was HD7750 and that is porbably not good enough.

No need for a powerful GFX if you use Vmware, even CPU built in intel graphics is enough.

So any graphic card is good enough really? Dont feel like any card can handle 6 diablo 3. Are you guys sure?

Turn down your gfx to the lowest possible setting since you are botting so why care about good graphics. You can also set it through d3pref, theres some guide around this forum so look it up.

From my experience I just built a 3770k system, initially tried hd4000 with 9 bots but it wasn't really usable, trying to do anything on the bots was impossibly slow, this started happening above 3-4 bots running, I didn't realise how much the graphics actually affected performance. Bots were dying constantly with low FPS and on like 100-200k gph, added the 7850 and they are all 0dph 500k+ gph now.. GPU load according to GPU-Z is at around 50%, I am running mipbias 9, absolute min graphics settings, 800x600 minimised to 400x300 via YAR.

VMs don't use GPU, so yeah.

At the moment with my HD7950 3GB I'm using about 700MB VRAM and the GPU load is hovering around 35% so I guess the card has to have at least 35% of the HD7950's performance. Guess I will go with the HD7770, it's only 100? and it's not worth the risk of not working properly to go any lower than that.

this is wrong. i thought this for a long time but the graphics card does effect things where a vm is concerned. i'm not sure why but i guess just the fact that it sends the final output to the monitor is enough to use the graphics card a fair bit.

If im running 7 bots on i5 3570K, radeon 4800hd. Edited d3 prefs for best performance and fps capped to 15fps.

Cpu usage jumps from 68-80 sometimes reaches 95%.

My question is: will better graphic card lower cpu usage/ allow installing more bots?

Running 8 bots on a GeForce 8800 GTX, cost me a whole fifty damn dollars on fleabay :p
