How many vms can i run?

And how many can i run while palying other games?

Intel i5-2550k 3.4GHZ
8.00gb DDR3

(need to get a new one) nvidia geforce gtx 460

running host and guest only 2 total. And my guest one is stable but i set it at 3gbram and 2core 2 processor is overkill?

and my pc is ok if restart d3 but if it's on for a day i start runing out of memory doing normal things.

how many VM's or sessions where you planning on running?

To demonmanjon:
- You are correct with your current Hardware, you can only run 1 VM + 1 Host.
- Your nearest bottleneck is your 8GB RAM. Each VM should consume between 2.5GB to 5GB RAM (when it cache thrashes).
- Your PC Processor bottleneck is 4 VMs.
- If your GTX460 is 1GB VRAM version, your bottleneck is between 3 to 4 VMs.

yea it's 1gb vram i believe. If i get a better graphics card will i be able to run more? I was just plannign to run 2 vm and 1 host.

Yea your right i allocated 2 still crashed d3 after like 30min. Doesn't the guide say 1.5 is enough per vM?

Should i be setting 1 processor 1 core or 1 processor 2 cores or what?

Or should i just get more ram like 16-32 and ill be good?

you need 32 gb ram, gtx460 card is good enough to handle up to 15 vms (with low grafics).

With good overclock of your 2500k you'll be able to run 4-5 vms + host, with good overclocked i7 you'll be able to run 10-12.

So, you need more ram, cooler for overclocking and probably a new i7 cpu if you want to start a lot of vms.

hd6850/gtx460 with 1g vram is enough for vm bot.i bot 6 in vm now and only 700mb vram of HD5850 is used.
with 8g ram, you can run 2 bots in vm, maybe 1 more in host. with 16g ram you can run 5 max.
CPU with HT helps a lot for more bots. like 1230v2 or I7.
and you need a SSD.

This is false. Plenty of users are having problem with gtx460 running at even 3 VMs with black screen issues.

My older botting computer is at 3 vmware with a Sapphire 6850 1GB (same performance as a 460 GTX)

Before the ban, I was running 2 vmware and 3 host fine on a i5 760, non-SSD, 6850, 16GB ram

your priority right now is the RAM upgrade imo.

Well, maybe it depends on card + driver + other settings. I have black screens sometimes. I had ton of problems with asus DC2 6970 2gb. gtx460 has 50-60% load under 9 vms right now.
