Un-merged account?

Hello. My friend Got an un-merged account, Can i merge that to my main battlenet?
And if i get banned ?n my merged account, d? i Then get banned ?n my main too?

My understanding about account merges is they have to have the same 'last name' registered for both accounts.
Last I saw with bannings...
accounts on a merged account are handled separately, as long as they don't get linked (one account benefitted some way through the other account as in gifts of gold, items, etc.).
If you read Blizzard ToS, they can ban you because its Monday, tho. So don't take this as gospel.
