But ignoring that for now; in the face of a competitive market, the issue of incentives for doing something above and beyond what is asked by other (paid for) bots still haven't been addressed. Also the community's resistance to treating an opinion on the matter with any consideration or in this case, any respect.

my little rant on the last post wasnt directed at you, it was at the whole human race. if you want money, then go get a job, if you want money go farm some gold, because the gold farmers aren't complaining, because they know how this business works, and they know how to make good money doing it. the only people complaining are the new kids that are coming over from diffrent bots, Some who have never played wow Mind you. and have no idea how anything is done, so they do what they do for everything, ask for it to be handed to them. thats not the way the world works.

True, if only it was!

However that is the way some other bots on the market work. As i said previously customer's aren't stupid (lazy maybe!), so refusing to even acknowledge what other bots can do will push them away.
 
I use my own profiles. The reason being that on my server I saw at least 4 other bots running on the same profile.at the same time I was I checked the armoury of the toons and found some of then had not even done the 50 quest achievement at lvl76.

Dude tell me who is making a feral druid CC and I'll be first in line to throw a couple dollars out to the person cause now all of the CC's are magically disappearing

For those of you complaining about 'lack of profiles'. Look back on Glider. Did it come with 'default' profiles for you to use out of the box? No. You went and used the profiles provided by the community. Granted; there were hundreds of profiles, but Glider was one of 3 or so viable bots at the time, and it's community far exceeded all others.

The community can get, what it puts back in.

The developers barely have enough time to keep the bot going, let alone provide you with a set of 500 plugins, 30 different CCs for each class, and 10 million profiles for you to pick and choose from.

HB is incredibly cheap for what you get out of it. You have to put in some time to make it 'yours'. So what. You do the same thing on your computer, your phone, and any other 'device'. HB is really no different. Put in some time, give back to the community, and you'll have more than enough stuff to play with.

I've been putting in effort for this community, to hopefully get profile creation to a place where it is really just 'click click click done'. Go play with my profile editor and explain how profiles are hard to make. (I've made my own 1-25 in about 20 minutes. So far so good.)

Hb is constantly getting updated, they change extension names if that is what it is called every 3 or 4 releases. Yea it sucks but it is getting better. What I hate is that if we wanted to upgrade/update we need to ask on the forums then pray hawker or anybody that knows what they changed (not many). I can remember that back in the day they released (API Documentation Honorbuddy) which showed those extensions at least, now I can't tell what has been changed to what, and people do want some plugins I have made to be updated, the truth is Megser is partially right money does motivate but thats not the only thing, if I work on something pretty hard I love releasing it. Its up to the releasey to decide what to do. I am making my own questing profile I don't think I will release just for the simple fact of we have some and I dont think it will matter if I release it anyways.

On a second note: I hope every user here has a life outside wow and if I have a couple of plugins or CC that need to be updated with NEW code that needs to be found then yea it's going to take a while. I don't sit at my comp 24/7 like some people assume.

The thing is, not everyone who buys HB wants to write CC's/profiles/plugins. Like i've said before, a bot is only as good as the profile/CC it's using. I think it's a bit pointless releasing a great bot but having no profiles of equal greatness. Some people want to buy HB, download a choice of profiles and click start.

It's not a great advert for a product if you say "Want to save yourself 2 weeks of handleveling ? Buy HB, it's the best bot out there but to use it to it's full potential you'll have to spend those 2 weeks writing your own profiles and a good CC"

HA if this is true do you think the people who are writing the great CC's wanted to too (not directed at you dayloon)? Every human wants to sit back and relax, let it go go on its own, HB is not stable enough for that yet unfortunately. Also for the people who come here that have never touched a programming langue (not many tho lol). So in a way I can see some request.
 
I think it needs somebody to release a premium, constantly updated set of profiles. Can't remember the guys name now but in the glider days somebody did this and im sure he made some good money out of it. Personally, i'd be willing to pay for excellent questing profiles.

yea why not just double the cost of a bot in general, no wait triple or more if you have multiple characters and need multiple profiles!
You pay for wow you get to play wow. You pay for a bot you have to code it by yourself :confused:

and before you flame me community this community that, if the community does not help enough then is up to the program owners to come up with something. Yea glider had community to do that so they didnt have to bother with it, but is it the same here?
 
As for people complaining about paying for a product and not getting what they paid for... well lets see...

1). GB comes with default profiles (while honestly not the best they are in there by default and DO work).

2). As for HB... well look at it like this ... It was orginally a grind bot i am quessing. Does it grind yes... if the profile and cc work. Which if you followed the instruction and DL the product and supporting software (.net) and extracted it in the right place... then removed all CC's from the custom folder that you are currently not playing to a back up folder or where ever if you bot different classes. my bot start up fine. Stock CC's work as intended. Not as flashy or as effecient as some of the other custom CC developed by the other devs during their FREE TIME at no profit to them unless through generous donations.

3). As for profiles.... well lets have a look while not stock in the DL like GB profiles(except the PvP ones) you do have a ton to choose from on the forums.
Example:
1-45 Breakneck 1-45 (while not stock is fucking Awesome)
1-60 hawker undead even though designed for questing in mind its decent from what little test I did on it

Basically you DL all the ones in bracket you are working on... try them out... not hard to stop HB and click load new profile if the one your testing isn't to your liking.

As for the people bitching about other telling them to code there own stuff.... well its simple really. If you don't like something or it isnt doing its job as it was designed to do... you only have 3 options.

1. Deal with the profile and let it run.

2. Note the mistakes in the profile you are running and take 5mins to read a couple of basic post on what a hotspot/vendor/mailbox tags do and make the corrections yourself. The default buttons under profiles and meshes tab give you all the info you need to make your own corrections(not exactly 100% idiot proof but it does it job with cut and paste). Or use a plugin developed by another person at their own expense to make generation/corrections even easier. Apoc's offline profile gen/editor or Erenion in-game generator. Click and couple of buttons at a few spot in the game world and boom you have a profile ready for grinding/selling/mailing. Or submit feedback on the profile !!!!!WITH LOGS!!!!! and a semi decent explanation of what is wrong... other then "it don't work!!! WTFBBQ". When the developer or what ever get time to fix it they will.

3. Go with a different bot maker.

Me personally I came here after reading a post on mmoowned with his thoughts and overview of the bot. DL the trial version let it run for a few.... tried some things out and it did what I wanted it to do. Farm leather for me AFK... while not as efficient as me doing it by hand it did its job and allowed me to do other things or just take the monotany out of TS farming. As for the PvP aspect well i am a firm believer that Bots and huge crowds of real life players don't work well together as that is asking to get your account banned.

I think the big thing people need to remember is ITS a BOT for AFKing grinding. Not meant to look pretty although in time its getting there... navigation was a huge improvement.
