Can you make any money at all off of botting at this point?

I can highly rec having backups. I have 3 accounts, 1 is my main account which I never use HB on. The next which was banned last night was my primary farmer over the past month I've made around ~300k. I have a 3rd which I usually just leveled toons on etc but now will become my primary until I get another account/finish my appeal.

This was my concern. I just know that I'll get the farmer account to 90 and start in, and it will get my first ban ever in like the first week.

Well it all falls back on the good ole' risk/reward concept. If you play smart and only take moderate risk the likelihood of you being banned in the first week is minimal. The main reason I was banned was due to a feeling of invincibility and a 19 hour farming session and a yield 2500 nodes.

If you search the forums there are plenty of tips & tricks to not getting banned.

It's just smart to know going in that you WILL get banned eventually, but how long it takes to get banned depends on you.

At this point I believe it is a combination of both. For starters the profile I was using became extremely saturated, it didn't take long to become part of a bot train. In addition even knowing that I would become part of a bot train I left HB on for long sessions. So I know it became quite obvious.

Usually buy/mine ore, prospect, cut gems then sell, with the rest make jewelry then sell/disenchant, make enchants or whatever with the mats or sell em. Depends on what's more profitable on your server.
Requires JC, Alchemy, and enchanting to do all of it.

That was my other account that got banned two weeks ago. now I've made 75k gold on 5 days.
edit: which isn't much with 75k, now I have started a new server (better sell prices) and will see how this works out.

Regardless, How is this even advice? It's a nice lil accomplishment for sure to make that much gold with no seed money, but isn't that why we are all here in the first place? Just give him a few examples of what exactly you did? Or just offer a nugget if wisdom for the person to keep in mind as they go along their merry way trying to make this dream a reality. I think the carrot is already dangling in front of his face.

I have made 3 helpful comments.

Ok, summary:
You can run 3 bots, farm raw materials and sell on ah/c.o.d, or you can run 1 bot and make the same money.
This "math" is based on amount of raw materials I get from 1 bot - the raw material gold value * 3, is less than what I make from:

Jewelcrafting & Enchanting ORES
Prospecting all Ghost Iron Ores
Cut the useful gems thats 100g +. If a gem is low and I know it's worth flipping, I do that. If there's a low amount of red gems for 30g each, I buy them and relist for 200g, basic stuff.
For the uncommon materials I get(tiger opal, lapis lazuli, pandarens garnet...) I make green necklaces/rings and disenchant.
With the disenchanted materials I scan the auction house (getAll with TSM), check what's most profitable and put those enchants on veillums then on AH - same thing here, if Pandaren's Step, Glorious Stats, Super Resilience(...) is low on amount and low on price, I buy out and relist. If the prices are < than mats worth, then I won't lose on it. In rare cases I don't profit from it(prices drop too fast).
Sometimes I flip the ethereal shards along with spirit dust/mysterious essences up to 3-4 times their original price. this way people can't buy cheap spirit dust to create ethereal shards (5 spirit dust = 1 mysterious essence. 5 mysterious essence = 1 ethereal shard). This depends on how much on AH and how much I got from disenchanting.
I do this when I see green gem prices are high, ores etc. some days ores are up to 70g. This is to somehow make it a safer flip, I don't want people to be able to profit highly by undercutting me by half price. Sometimes people have alot stocked up - and undercuts you. Huge undercuts, buy out, relist. 1c undercut? Cancel a few auctions - post 1c less than him - repeat until he gives up. The good thing is that there's a standard price for enchanting mats, it'll eventually drop to that price again - if you try to flip and fail, you can always sell them for a very small loss when the prices go down.
I don't find meta gems worth making with alchemy atm, 400g per meta on ah.

Alchemy & Inscription HERBS
I mill most Green Tea Leaf, create ink (Starlight Ink & Ink of Dreams).
I create the BoP shoulder enchants and vendor (375g/stack, costs 60 Ink of Dreams to create 1 stack).
I can choose: Sell Green Tea Leaf 25g/stack@AH
omill it and get 5-10 Ink of Dreams(6 Ink of Dreams on AH: 30g - 2x Shoulder Enchants: 33g) and 1-2 Starlight Inks(~50g each on AH)
OR I make glyphs or BoE enchants, but it's too much work for those low prices atm. I rather use the profile which creates the shoulder enchants and vendors them, it's 10% profit (MY REALM!).

I use the other herbs for Alchemy.
Fool's Cap ~50g a stack on my AH
Golden Lotus ~50g each on my AH

If I put together 4 Fool's Cap(10g) and one Golden Lotus(50g) worth 60g, to a flask I sell it for 70-150g, depends on day - and ofcourse procs can occour.
a stack of Green Tea Leaf(25g) and a stack of Silkweed(3og) worth 55g together - sell on AH or make 20 Potions of the Jade Serpent - 90g-150g per stack, depends on day.
There's more than 1 type of potion and flask, but atm they are all profitable.

But most gold from the gems and enchants, but I stock up on flasks and potions before wednesday. Now I have my bags full of flasks and potions for tomorrow

now to you who think my math is wrong or whatever, I don't care anymore go bot and sell your 10000 stacks of Ghost Iron Ore on AH per day, I'm telling you my way (many people shuffle!) to make my gold - and make sure ah doesn't get flooded. We all know how annoying it is to have 100 stacks of Ghost Iron Ores on the AH for standard price, then someone comes undercut you with 500 stacks for half the price to get rid of them!
I do also have c.o.ders I send to if I get excessive amount of raw materials, or if I haven't sold most off the previous days gems/enchants/flasks/potions, I send. I usually send them a few mails per day to keep them happy, but I recently was banned and have to start over.
