Hello! I got honorbuddy like 0.7 year ago and i started using it again. I have a laptop. I can't leave it on on night because the energy cable, I've heard alot of the fires in homes is cause by the battery recharger is in the wall at night. So how can I leave my pc on while I sleep without worrying about fires?
 
any electrical appliance posses a fire risk. You shouldn't be to worried.
 
I know, But we had this insurance dude and he said 50% of the fires was caused by them and mobile recharges. (the battery cable)
 
either your a troll or your just too , excuse me, dumb.

if pc's catch fire from over-night staying on, you can phone the company you bought it from, and sue them !

in that case, you should hope your PC catches fire and sue them for a good couple mills then share with the community :)!
 
I'm not talking about the PC I am talking about my battery recharger FOR the PC. My sister's accually begun burning but she had a fire exhauser mat so she could make the fire stop before it was to late. Thanks for quick reply tho
 
I've been leaving my computer,tv,xbox,cell phone charger, you name it...on for like ever. And I've never had one problem with anytype of overheating issue's are fires.

I'm not saying it could happen, In alot of cases laptop chargers do over heat. You could maybe place a fan of some sort near the charger to keep it cooler. Or you could just charge it during the day and leave it unplugged at night.

Yeah I have too, but there is still the risk. =P (lols i even left the oven on for like 2h accidently) XD Well thanks can't you take cold gel packs and put under it with a towel around?
 
do you really care that much for your life ? you will die eventually
i leave my laptop on 24/7 and i forget about my mobile recharger and let it for 2-3 days there
 
how old is your pc charger? and if your sisters started to burn. i mean i'm speechless...
 
my pc charger is 2 days, and my sisters is 7 years but... xD

well, how many home fires are there a year? 50% of that number may not be as large as you think. And there may be other factors that play into that statistic. There's a risk involved for leaving your pc on 24/7, but there's a risk involved for everything. Imo, leave it on.
 
I am convinced thanks all :D btw mods feel free to delete this thread. my town have had 4 fires this year tho and it havn't gone long this year so i was kinda worried xD :P
 
Unless you bought a dodgy laptop and charger or it was built by a noob, it should have been through testing and regulations.

Buy a smoke alarm and put it right next to your laptop if you are worried. And make sure you have adequate ventilation around the transformer and laptop. I agree with the others here, I have all sorts of electricals on 24/7 (Laptop, Desktop, TV, DVD, Sky box, phone chargers etc) and have never had a problem.

I fly model helicopters which used high power lipo batteries, which are very flamable if damaged in a crash. I am recomended to charge them on metal tray to help reduce fire risks. You could improvise on that idea if you are worried.
 
All PCs have a mechanism that if the machine gets to hot it will shut its self down.

I'm going to close this because I believe you have some solid info in here. To add in my own experience, any laptop which can catch fire by being left on really should be replaced or warrantied. That should not happen. I routinely leave my laptop on for weeks at a time and have not caught fire.

I've tested the auto shut off mechanism in many newer laptops by turning them on with SuperPI on max and wrapping them in a blanket, I've never had one catch fire.
