So if i stop botting, can blizzard still ban me because i've botted for long time ago?

I would say yes.

My theory is that they have detection methods besides software, you account becomes "tainted" once you bot it and on hold for the next banwave.

Hey I killed 5 people a couple years ago, can I still go to jail?

Got my barb to paragon 75, I figure as soon as I hit 100 I'll get banned lol.
I used my rmah cash to upgrade 2 wow account ts to mop, working on my other 6 wow for the upgrade and prob will buy starcraft.

Okay, so everyone that use a bot is getting banned?

okay, guess I'll transfer all my gear then before i get banned :D

I'd say if you haven't botted on it for over a month, you're safe from future bans. I botted 3 toons to 60 on my main, have never botted on it since. When my bots got banned (been banned twice now), my main account was never touched. If you haven't been flagged already, or get caught in the act of botting you should be alright. Nobody knows for sure though.

I bet most WoW/D3 power leveling services uses bots to level their customers toons. They would have some really angry customers by now, and be out of business.

No, that's wrong. I botted in WoW, Starcraft 2 and now Diablo 3. Every game I got banned in, on at least one account. If you've botted on an account you run the risk of getting banned even if you've long stopped.

Case and point. I used a loss bot on both of my Starcraft 2 accounts. Got the portraits that I wanted (it only took about 2 days total.) About a month after, each account was hit with a 7 day suspension. Not a ban, but they still caught me. With World of Warcraft, I botted 3 characters to 60, played them for about a month or two after they'd capped 60 and the whole account got banned.

You will most likely get caught unless you take extreme measures to protect yourself.

if i bot in diablo do i get perm ban or just suspension?

I don't mean to sound horrible here, but after reading your comment above, then reading your signature it seems awfully strange how your spending the money you made on games instead of the things you said you needed donations for.

People will do/say anything for money.

To OP, if you get banned, it's a permanent ban. No need to continue looking for an answer that is comforting. If you bot, you can get banned.

To make a simple point they are even allowed to ban you when you have never done anything wrong.
