stuck at log in, program closes when i try to log in

I started having trouble when the I downloaded the latest update and haven't been able to get past the log-in screen since.

I use windows 7 64 bit

Mine was doing the same thing a minute ago, logged in on the third try tho, then disconnected. Tried one more time, and its working fine. Maybe a auth hiccup?
