Well starting today I noticed that someone has been trying to hack into most of my major bank/credit card accounts. I am not sure if there is a correlation or not, but I did pay with those banks/credit cards to this site and it happened right after you guys got hacked. Luckily I did not used the same password on this site as I do with my bank/credit cards.

I am wondering how deep into your data did they get?

Also, I dont have spyware/virus blah blah blah. I've been in IT for 10 years and my stuff is secure.

I did not even know they got hacked..lol, No problems on my end though with bank accounts and such, and i really don't think any of that information would be stored on buddy servers, as payments are handled by external gateways.

I believe that we do not store your payment information.
Our payments are handled by gate2shop or paypal, totally different companies and servers.

Our own servers were breached, as stated in the announcement.
And we think they only got a few bot logins.
Which is why we asked you to change your passwords.

All users will soon be switch from user/pass combos to keys.

And as for your IT experience.
It doesn't matter how long you have been in IT or how secure you THINK you are.
There is always a way to get in, such was the case with us.

the username and passwords for the forum where md-5 hashed and salted.
meaning that even if they throw them in a huge rainbow table, with every possible hash they wouldn't get any matches as the salt changes changes that hash.

etherway change your passwords, they didnt get any payment information they just got the old hashes and the current salted hashes.

recently the nvidia forums got hacked, in that instance, they where using plain old MD5, its unfortunate it happened, but at least our current information is more secure NVIDIA Forums Hack: Passwords Not Salted | techPowerUp

Trust me I know this. I should have said ...secure enough

Also that is sad with Nvidia...big companies get lazy about things sometimes
