[GUIDE] VMware + D3 | they way it shoud be done

Hey guys. Im having trouble with getting this to work efficiently.
I think Ive got the links and directories set up correctly and can run d3 and bot no probs on 1 vm.
If i open another instance of D3 from either the host or a clone i get stuck on a grey screen just before login.

Ive got 2.5gb of ram and 1 processor 2 cores for each vm.

Edit: I have amended the paths to reflect the new .dll numbered files to 49 and 100.
Edit 2: I have also made the .bat file to launch Diablo III.exe with the -launch command.

Now i get "unexpected error has occured"

Any ideas?

I had a look in the logs and it seems like I have the same mpq issue.
Does anyone know if its a matter of requiring more files to be linked? Any other suggestions?

Ok finally figured it out. If you want to run on one core you have to increase the priority of d3 to high/above normal. Theres a tool called prio saver to to that (though that did not work for me i just set it to high within yet another relogger). What seems to help too is enabling virtualisation within your bios! Im down to 30-40% CPU usage from 90%+! Guess its time to add another bot ;D

Maybe add those points to the initial post?

will try that bios part out, but just increasing the priority of d3 didn't helped, demonbuddy still uses a huge part of the ressources and it acts very weird if I increase D3 priority, I think demonbuddy just gets dumb then because it doesn't have enough cpu anymore.

Hey,

maybe I don't understand something, "HDD make sure when you create it that you select (store virtual disk as single file and select its size for 5Gb or less)"
how can it size be 5Gb if just d3 folder has 10+?

This is kinda funnny but I got the iso from windows 7 ultimate sp1 x32 lite v3 by nil-nt (download torrent) - TPB
I'm trying to reformat using usb
whenever i boot my usb it just stays black screen

Edit: Tried a different usb still same problem
I tried the f8 boot menu also tried bios booting usb first even tried redownloading the iso
seems to me my computer doesn't wanna run the setup

Edit 2: Fuck vmware seems like people get all their accounts ban even with it =/

How do I move files to my new virtual machine? Since internet explorer does not exist in the optimized version suggested I don't know how to get files to the virtual machine.

Install vmware tools and just drag and drop from your host ;)

Because we symlinked most of the D3 install from host PC on our guests.

hi, anyone know where can i still download the windows 7 ultimate sp1 x32 lite v3 by nil-nt.iso?

the torrent tat i downloaded dosent have any seeds. thanks! :)

I found mine @ TPB, dont know if it is allowed to link to torrents so you will have to find it yourself!

I just got my first virtual machine up and running and I am able to transfer files just fine, however I have one problem I don't know how to solve. I downloaded the D3 installer from battle.net and when I'm trying to install D3 on it, it gets stuck on "Updating setup files". Any ideas?

You have to add -launch at the end of the shortcut, should run fine

So I should type -launch at the end of the D3 installer file I downloaded from battle.net? Got a problem if that is the case, it says I cant type "-" in the file name.

Edit: I had the wrong language on my keyboard so I could add -launch but the computer dont know how to open the file atm :) Thanks for the help, really!

No you have to make shortcut and as a target, use
Code:
"C:\Diablo III\Diablo III.exe" -launch

Now this is my target, correct I think, however it refuses to run and just stays at "updating setup files". C:\Users\Hemma\Downloads\Diablo-III-Setup-enGB.exe -launch

It shouldn't point to the setup file but to the diablo exe which you should have in your program files

I dont have it installed yet, I'm trying to download it so that the D3 will have a seperate ID on every virtual machine. Do I have to copy my entire folder?

Not true, ISBoxer's Window feeds supposedly cannot be sent over different PC's only over one. And since vmware is virtualized to make it seem like more then one its having issues im trying to figure out a way to do it. i posted up on their site.

I use isbox over 4 pc's sharing movements etc... etc. So no this is not exactly true, you can't share video to one pc.. but you can easily 4 monitor, 4 pc and box.
