nah, u can buy a monk like that for less than 10 mil, i mad one for 10 mil to testing, worked soo well that i spended another 60 mil on a ls skorn and a inna set
 
ha love this build. picked up way too many legendaries yesterday and a couple of set items... happen to pick up an AV with 168 dex but also with 24% fire dmg lol... but using right now and it feels good to be zipping around the screen with 1.49 aps lol :P
 
quick questions for anyone:

looking at the code (see the ones in red) below:

GilesUseTimer(SNOPower.Monk_WaveOfLight) &&
(playerStatus.dCurrentEnergy >= 90 || playerStatus.dCurrentEnergyPct >= 0.85) && GilesHasBuff(SNOPower.Monk_MantraOfConviction))

Does it mean that it will only spam wave of light only IF both conditions are met (current energry>90 AND current energy percentage> 0.85)?

The symbol "||" means "OR" if I'm not wrong, so it means spam WoL when either >90 Spirit or >85% Spirit Flask

ah tks dude. but i'm just wondering if that's redundant to have the 2nd condition there (to spam WOL if >85% Spirit Flask) as it is pretty clear cut if the condition was just to spam WOL when >90 spirit.

The second condition doesn't matter, you can remove it and the "||" sign.
It will never do anything.
 
Any advice for gearing up a monk for this build, with a bigger budget?

Obviously swapping out Pants for Innas, Crit + Single Res Lacunis, but what else?
 
hmmm i think soj didn't work as well as i like... seems to me its better to use a rare ring instead... not sure why. both stats of the items below.

soj: 6% lightning dmg/spirit regen 1.77/25% dmg vs elite/5% WOL

Rare ring: 3.5% cc/31%cd/98dex/642 LOK

SoJ didn't work for me either, gave it a try - looked good and then i saw stats aren't as good.
Madstone works nicely atm.
I got one with 2 spirit per sec, 13% dmg bonus to fists of thunder and 6% crit chance :)

haha i think spirit regen is pretty important too, of course 6% crit rocks.
 
What is the cheapest resist to stack on a monk? Any tips?

I did poison for my first one and was able to make use of an andariel's helm, so that was nice. Should I stick with poison though or try something else? The andy's helm really helped hit the 1.3+ APS requirement for this build, so I'd need other suggestions.
 
I have two monks

Monk 1:
Arcane stacked to about 790@res
Cost about 15-20 mil initially

Monk 2:
Poison stacked to 910@red
Cost 15 mil at the most.
 
Hey thanks for the guide!
I'm new here and i was struggling with a poorly geared ww barb lol, and your guide has really helped ;] I spent roughly 15m and swapped out the survival passives for spirit regen ones and it's working great!
Just one question though... should I be using the templar for 12% spirit or scoundrel crit chance? 33,5% right now

This build/setup is insane!

Spent ~20m and it's way better than my pre 1.0.5 barb that I spent ~150m at!

Just faced a pack of phase beasts, arcane, mirror images (can't remember the name) and a treasure goblin, killed everything in ~8 seconds o.O
 
hmmm with high enough crits, you can try running with guardian path and chant of resonance for the 2 spirit regen, and use sweeping wind/ cyclone rune for more dps. works very well for me :P

Then you lose 10% ms
