Well as the title implies i?m kind of wondering if you guys ever heard of PR...

I mean you are unbelievable good programmers and as far as i can tell nice helpfull guys but you can?t be serious about the managment of the community as it is now.
You have lots of paying costumers (not me cause i?m waiting till you finally recognize your failure)
and all you ever tell them is to wait and to post logs...for example last week you told us there would be a downtime because of warden 2...i appreciate that and hoped after this downtime you would release a new improved version of honorbuddy....but one day later honorbuddy is online again without a word of you nobody knows if it is secure and it still is the same shitty version except for some more bug
Also you never tell your users what you are working on and what you are fixing.

Ban me for this or think about it cause this is business and not some small kiddy projekt anymore

The community is generally doing very well, with the exception of a few unsavoury characters but they appear in every community. In regards to the bot... it is fine, it has a few bugs and the relevant people are working to correct them.

The priority for the team during that release was to make sure their security worked to help protect us from the new Warden version. They also had to take into consideration new changes such as Real ID and of course the normal offset changes which occur in these patches.
Minor bug fixes were no doubt also applied but some of the bigger bugs remained simply because they require more time to fix.
They also clearly indicated in numerous posts what the priority was for this update and what to expect on its release.

Also you never tell your users what you are working on and what you are fixing.

They have clearly told users about what they have been working on. I mean have you not noticed all the Beta releases for questing so that they can get that up and running?
The other thing we need to consider here is that if the team say "Oh we are working on this and that" people will expect the next release to contain those things which quite simply is not always possible due to many different things which can go on during development.

They wouldn't ban you for this because the team shows great interest in the opinions from the community. I am sure the relevant people will address this post accordingly.

if you would just open your eyes and read, i mean really use the forum, you would know whats going on, and when the releases are out. if you knew better you would know the buddy team wouldn't of pulled a priox and release a version without knowing what the new system is capable of they took the week to know what it does, and then fix the warden protection since it had to be rewritten. so if you dont care about the fact they went the extra mile to actuily care about your account, then just leave, im and go back to WoW-Mimic, since they like to take your money, not give a shit about your account, and not have ANY support what so ever.

The whole reason i ran with HB was because it wasnt some shitty version as you've put it, but because it genuinely blows everything else out of the water, if they'd released an identical product after the patch i'd of been perfectly happy. The downtime wasn't really to improve anything just to secure the bot from advancements made on Warden.

A lot of the problem with people like you, is that you cannot take the time to read a few posts. Often much info can be gleamed from actually taking the time to read what is posted.

I don't disagree with everything the OP is saying. I maybe would have put it differently but i do think it would help the user community if we had access to a "known bug list" of sorts. I've reported the same problem multiple times with virtually every beta and haven't had any kind of acknowledgement that it's a known problem. Obviously because of that I have no idea if a fix is in the pipeline. I think new betas should also contain clear information on what has changed / what's been fixed and what is still outstanding. Like this new option of "experimental path following"....what is it ? How is it different ? I've searched the forum and can't find any kind of dev post explaining it.

I think a "Known bug list" would also prevent people from reporting the same issue over and over again.

/edit - As an example i mean a bug list like this http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/list so that people can see what issues the devs are working on (or are at least aware of) and can see updates.

I think the most frustrating thing to end users is bugs that get squashed come back, this should never happen on any project, commercial or free. I am not sure what source control you are using but it doesn't seem to work that well Unfortunately I cannot offer a solution to this problem.

The programmers would have been too busy with the warden 2 changes that they wouldn't have done many improvements. I have to say that I've had very little issues with HB/GB my main issue was SOTA with the gates but other than that I cant complain its levelled chars farm ore/herbs/leather for me and my mate got all the stuff gold can buy. Certainly not something I would have achieved by doing it by hand.

I would rather have the security in place first over the bugs.

@ Skeetz : im not paying but at least im working on some profiles for the time i will pay so don tell me bullshit only because you paid already for something that doesnt really work from level 1 to 20 and as i guess after it is the same ! For the rest im glad that i found some guys that unsterstand what i mean hopefully the mods will do as well....And to the guys telling me i dont read the forum: I DO IT DAILY and YOU should probably read my post because im not complaining about the downtime but about it being so short that im not sure that something was changed AND also about nothing writing in the forum about it

You have said nothing helpful with your post. Do you know the intricate workings of the HB team? How many employees they have or how many hours a day they spend trying to fix problems?Do you know how many PM's they get a day from people who use their products?

You state that they ask for logs to be posted, isn't this what most other software companies would ask when you have a software problem? The answer is yes....

You seem to think there was some mention of a new and improved honorbuddy, when all that was said was some recoding for WARDEN 2.

Most people with common sense would know if a product is taken down for a week or a day or whatever and then put back up it is safe to use, but lets be realistic BOTTING is not safe.

As a software development team they do not need to tell anyone the details of what they are working there is competition out there that would love to know as well. They have said what they want to implement, many times and it's still in beta, that means testing, bugs, fixes and everything else that goes into it.

Your post was not helpful, as a matter of fact you sound like the guy in trade channel who needs to be hand held to make his way through the land of azeroth.

And for the record, I have owned by businesses for 20+ years, with a Master's Degree in Business Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Sales and Marketing. Your thread title is misleading and wrong as this has nothing to do with PR, your quibble is with customer service.

Ok....I don't agree with the way the OP worded his remarks and i don't even agree with a lot of his remarks but as I said previously, there is a lot the dev team could do to improve not only our lives but theirs as well. They must be bombarded with duplicate bug reports because NOBODY has visibility of what they are working on or what issues they are aware of etc. When new betas arrives, it tends to be a guessing game as to what's changed and what's not changed.

The software isn't free and like it or not, we are customers and have a right to say something when we're unhappy with a certain aspect of the product. It kinda saddens me that whenever somebody says something negative or comes up with improvement ideas, they get jumped on and abused.

As for the profile crap comments, yes.. create your own. The profiles here work, are they perfect? no, but the old phrase "Beggers can't be choosers" rings a bell. YOu bought the program NOT the profiles. The ability to create profiles is part of the program. So before you all complain, bitch, moan an groan about the program, why don't you learn ALL of the program and not just the small parts that you want to. Without knowing the program as a whole you have no right to bitch that something you get for free (profiles) don't fit your needs... I make my own profiles and/or modify existing ones. Its easier then riding a bike and chewing gum.. but i'm beginning to wonder if some of you even have the ability to do so without training wheels and pillows strapped to you...

Basically bot needs bug tracker badly (I recommend JIRA ). It will make development process transparent and save both dev's and clients loads of time when reporting/sorting through bugs and/or viewing changelog .
