Hey Everyone

It'd be great if someone could make a [Dark Apotheosis] survival build. It'll make things a lot easier when afk'ing and you get jumped by 5 or 6 mobs.

At the moment, none of the routines support it.

Thanks!

I second this, unfortunately I don't have the skillset to write it myself, but i can give details on spell priorities etc.

I think a drop in replacement for singular .cs files would do too.

OK so to start outlining it in case someone wants to pick it up when they red this thread here goes.

First Note, play style of a Dark Apothesis build varies depending on talents chosen. IE with or without pet.

A Bit about the Resource system of Demo Locks.

Demo locks have a secondary resource called Fury, this maxes out at 1000 and "idles" at 200 (ie it will decay or generate to 200 when out of combat). Fury is built from doing damage with some spells, and spent on high damage spells and cooldowns. Any Fury generated over 1000 is forfeit.

Requires Glyph of Demon Hunting, this gives us the spell Dark Apotheosis. This costs 100 Fury to activate, and stays active until deactivated by the player. This act's like a Stance 2, Metamorphosis is still available to use on stance 1, however swapping out of Apotheosis will deplete your fury to 200 instantly.

For this purpose we would activate Dark Apotheosis as a precombat buff and leave it up.

Pets:

Depending on the talents selected your pet is either used to be sacrificed for a buff, or used as a regular pet. If Grimoire of Sacrifice is talented/selected, we should summon our Voidlord and sacrifice him to give ourselves his Hp buff CD, otherwise summon our Felguard/Wrathguard (Depending on Talent Grimoire of Supremacy). Also we should have Glyph of Imp Swarm to use as a CD when we need burst Fury generation.

Rotation:

Fury Generating:
Aura of the Elements (2 minute Buff)
Corruption (Dot, always up)
Shadowflame Aura (Cast Hand of Guldan, 6 second debuff, 2 charges on spell, can stack)
Demonic Slash (Filler Spell/Fury Generation, 3 charges, 10 YARD RANGE)
Void ray (Only if moving)

Fury Burning:
Soul Fire (Only on Molten Core procs)
Immolation Aura (On 3+ Adds, 10 seconds)
Carrion Swarm (Knocks Back enemies)

Survival:
Fury Ward (Bubble, 10 seconds duration/10 second CD, costs 200 fury)
Unending Resolve (3 minute CD, 40% reduction for 8seconds, 30k mana)
Dark Bargain (50% reduction, 8 seconds, 3 minutes CD)
Drain Life/Harvest Life (Mana cost, channeled, heals caster)
Health Funnel (If Pet is active, heals pet)

That's a basic start, if anyone picks this up I'll be happy to continue and give better information.

I'll see what I can do for this in Fpsware Warlock :)

EDIT:
So.... WHEN would you use this, please give me a couple of scenarios how when and how you should us this. Is it PVP and/or PVE suitable, would you use this in an instance? Basically under what conditions do you go balls to the wall and start swinging wildly?

I can write it, but I don't have any experience using this ability so I'm relying on you for the exact ins-and-outs of this.

AS always FPSWare, you are my sheep-shagging hero.

I haven't run it in PvP yet myself, though it's high on survivability so I imagine it would be useful, especially from a bot perspective.

Solo Farming, Scenario's, miscellaneous PvE stuff is what I use this for. In dungeons the same spec can be used, but with a standard Meta rotation (Dark Apotheosis off).

Warlocks have gotten a whole lot more complex on the whole than in Cata, however while in Dark Apotheosis it's pretty simple button mashing.

In the Pet Sacrifice build, AoE damage is low, and we start to rely heavily on Immo Aura with Harvest Life Drains, maybe dropping a summon too. With a Fel/Wrathguard we have there aoe too.

Think of the Warlock as an off-tank in the same manner are an Arm's warrior with a shield or a kitty druid in bear. Not crit capped, but pretty menacing nonetheless, and with a 500% threat modifier.

I wouldn't want to pick on a DA Warlock out trying to gather nodes...

I use DA for questing by hand and it can wreck shit. Basically what I do is

Demonic Slash on Cooldown
Hand of Guldan on Cooldown
Fel Storm / Wrath Storm if 3+ adds
Immo aura
Keep up Aura of Elements
Carrion swarm on Cooldown
Drain Life/Harvest Life if nothing else to cast
Mortal Coil if under 70% health.

If you have Dark Apotheosis do you even need to use Metamorphosis?

Dark Apotheosis
You imbue yourself with demonic energies, reducing physical damage taken by a % ( mastery related ) , reduces magic damage taken by 15% and allows the use of various demonic abilities.
Metamorphosis
- transforms in a demon, increases all damage done by x % ( mastery related )

whole point is to have a fully afk'able lock that can get jumped by 6 mobs and not die... every other freaking cc will die when jumped by adds, it's so freaking annoying since every one of the 3 lock specs with any talent selection can easily kill 6 equal lvl mobs at once, but the cc's are all retarded!!!! they won't even wait the 5s for the pet to get full hp before they start pulling again... they never heal the pet, they never do anything that would help them survive, just 1 cc that can farm and id be happy camper.

This is built in to CLU guys

Download CLU and make sure you have the glyph and go into the demo lock settings and select dark Aptheosis tanking.

when i go to class specific the only option i get is what pet to summon. CLU so far has been the best but still falls short for fully afk warlock grinding. im talking about killing lvl 90 mobs, it may work fine at lower lvls but at 90 it dies way too much.

Update your CLU... do not go to Pet Summon go to "Demonology" in that area is a selection for your pet. If you want a profile for grinding shit use this: it switches to meta just before a mob dies to get the bennifit from the healing glyph. It also switches to Dark Aptheosis when below 50% HP. Just replace your demonology.cs in CLU AFTER UPDATING FROM SVN and make sure the option for Dark Apo tanking is disabled ***THIS IS FOR GRINDING ONLY, NOT RAIDING OR DUNGEONS****

Use the default demonology.cs for raiding/dungeons, and enable Dark Aptheosis Tanking if you want to tank with it.

I have used this edit of CLU for grinding my own lock and its destroying level 90 mobs at level 89 with no problems, so dont come back saying it doesent work, read what i posted above this sentence first.

i svn updated clu and it showed up, thx for telling me or i wouldn't have even tried to look there. but it does spend an awful lot of time not attacking mobs which sux :(

As dark apotheosis tanking? Yup seeing as the only other ability you can use is soul fire and that costs demonic fury.

So when it is out of chaos slashes and hand of guldans ur just sitting until one is back up or u switch targets and apply more dots until you get 900+ demonic fury.

If ur grinding use the cs I posted up there and make sure the "use dark apotheosis" tank inbox toddles to False.

ahh that makes sense, just trying to find out the best spec for farming at this time, havent tried affliction yet but demo has been better than destro by far

Awesome. Thanks a lot for this!

CLU sometimes messes up on my destro lock and doesn't turn, resulting in the "Not facing your target" error.
