Warning - odd afk message

Warning [I have no idea if it matters] - Diablo now has a AFK thing where they know when you are not playing manually. Corner it says "You are now AFK" and "You are no longer AFK". It is accurate enough to detect when I'm actually playing vs botting while AFK.

I stopped botting until we get confirmation.

it says "you are no longer afk" when you create the game.
i dont see how its that hard..........................

are you assuming that they know you aren't actually "pressing buttons" on your keyboard? LOL
 
I second this observation - I tested this for myself over the last 15 minutes, it definitely registers you as AFK but your bot is clearly moving and fighting...call me paranoid but this could be another way that Blizzard is using to detect bots.
 
I had 3 windows open and was botting when this message appeared, I ignored it and kept going 3-4 hours later all 3 accounts banned.
 
There is a possibility that it was from the AFK messages but I don't think that is actually the cause. It was probably because of the 18 hours a day you were doing when you were botting before the patch. Either way we all get hit eventually. Thanks for the heads up none the less.
 
I didnt get banned Tashkin, was just trolling until I realized it was a douchebag things to do.

I am running 3x bots strong with AFK message up.
 
Good, we have some volunteers then. You guys can be the crash test dummies :p
 
just put away status. Then in someway, you're "no longer away" lol

This is what I was thinking too. If you have it on away, the AFK message is always on whether or not it's in the foreground or background. I just have mine on "busy" and am running only one instance in the foreground for now. Hopefully the buddy team will be able to shed some light on this in the next day or so.
 
You can set yourself to busy or away, but the game will still know whether your window is in background or not. Just gotta hope Blizz isn't using this as an anti-botting measure.
