I've been botting on D3 since release. well, ever since db was released that is. All casual though, leveling characters, getting enough gold to get a particular item. maybe only a few times a week. Me and a friend are looking into maybe getting into botting for real. Was hoping someone on here is willing to give some good solid advice. Just to give you an idea on what I'm looking for; My computer can handle 8 bots running with good fps, so that's what I'll be aiming for. What character should i use? What inferno act? or hell? gold farming or item farming, maybe hybrid? sell on gah or rmah? How many hours a day per bot? best way to unload? What about the creation of accounts? how do I set 8 bots up with Paypal? or do I send all gold to one and then unload? Never sold gold so I don't know. I know this is a really newbie question but I know there's a few good souls out there willing to help a fellow botter out. Thanks.

ps. If you reply just to shoot me down don't bother. I realise that all the best advice may be kept secret, I'm not looking for super secret's or anything just main advice when dealing with a lot of bots going hardcore.

Tell your processor good luck. DB with TPS enabled uses just as much (or more) CPU than d3.

I bot one account 12hrs/day and make $70-$100/day. Quality, not quantity. Spend 500m on a char and get 550% MF in mp7 (buffed) = 4-5 cheap chars running act 3 slowly with no mf until higher paragon.

Alternatively, you could run 4x bots in one game with that new plugin. This is MUCH more efficient.

Well gold farming is about volume and you're just not gonna make enough gold with 8 bots versus its value. But it will be steady, you'll make pretty much the same everyday.

Then there is item farming which is luck. You'll read threads about how people are making 1000000 mil a day with one bot! But every one of those people there's 100 who aren't getting chit. And I would imagine people are grossly over exaggerating their resulting AH income when they claim they're making XXX million from items every day off 1-3 bots, 365 days of the year. They will have days or weeks where they don't find that juicy item or a bunch of less juicy but monetarily equal items and will not include them in their discussion care of confirmation bias.

This, though I am really lucky. Typically, I get one item worth 100m+ (usually in the 200-300 range) a week, 2-3x 50-100m, and 10-15x 10-30m, adding up to a good 100m/day. I don't get 100m every day, but sometimes I get 500 to make up for it. Alternatively, you can gold find for 300kgph @ 8 chars, 16 hours a day, and within a month you'll be banned and $100 or so in the hole.

In evicted's example you're gonna make ~57 mil a day (300gph, 8 char) provided you aren't dying all over the place. That won't come close to what he is making. You need the resources to gold farm. The only reason i gold farm is because i can output 265-270 mil / day and I don't want to have to gear a bunch of bots to item farm.

Lol'ed at your supposed daily earnings. Probably sold 1 item for $100 and now he thinks he makes $100 daily.

Item farming isn't luck. It's still steady, just a little more variance involved than gold farming (which is non-existant these days).

I make 400k/hr on my 80+ paragon barb in A3 Inferno.

How is it not luck? You have no control over what drops

EDIT: although I agree you can make it 'steadier' by having more bots

You have no control over the gold piles that drop either, there's just more of them than rares/legendaries so there's less variance.

Run with a 170k dps rend barb @ max MF, move speed, 0 deaths per hour, and get back to me.

I agree on the dudes trolling. No one makes 70-100 dollars every day on one bot. Its rare. maybe 100 dollars/week. Why cant these trolls just be banned?

How about I run 7 barbs 24/7 with max MF&MS and don't make $100 daily (much less running 12 hours a day rofl).

People on these boards BS way too much rofl.

Loving these kind of answers

Running two bots, one over 395mf and the other almost 390 (still need to upgrade something) and im lucky if i got ONE item to sell... and even more lucky if it can sell for more than 5? or 10?

And that is running 24/7

So either you are just another liar that camps this forum or US rmah is heaven

70-100 dollars a day 12 hours a day is absolutely impossible, not even with the absolute best gear in the game. Thats the equivilant of 13-18 million gold an hour. Also, people who say item farming is luck don't understand basic statistics. If the probabilities of certain items dropping are fixed, its never going to be luck in the long run.

I think a very realistic figure would be about $100 - $150 month per bot you run.

Thanks for the advice guys, is it safe to say if i have lets say 4 bots running( to keep my cpu alive) champion farming. I can expect to (realisticly) get 300$ a month thats assuming high paragon and good gear of course. I'm just trying to evaluate if its worth it. As long as I make my money back I don't really care in the end. I'm not depending on this as income, just want some extra beer money for the weekends.

everytime when there is a thread here which provides some e-peen discussion please take the amounts of "gold" "money" "dps" "bla bla" and reduce it by at least 50 to 70%...
there are so many people here proud of their earnings so they forget to add which effort it takes to have a real constant income since RMAH launch. Forget all the stupid numbers you read here...
you have to make your own experience and it really depends on how much a)time and b)money you want to invest not to get flooded by other botters.
