Hey all,

First time posting so Greetings and Salutations to everyone!...I did a search and couldn't find anything in regards to my question.

I am just wondering if anyone has encountered any issues from installing HB to a DropBox folder. I ask this as I used multiple computers and it'd just make things easier if I was able to do it this way!

Anyway if anyone could provide some insight on this that'd be great.

Cheers!

Nope been doing that for a year and no issues!
Even have my addons, wtf, and screenshot folder symlinked to my drop box so they are synced across all my wows on my dif computers. Works great.

Awesome!

Wow, I never actually thought about linking addons/wtf and screenshots to my DropBox...I shall do some investigating on how to accomplish this.

Cheers for the inspiration.

Well you seem nice so going to help you out :P
ARogan: Dropbox: Sync World of Warcraft and other save game files

You will need to do this on each computer. Just an overview:

**Note: when it comes to the wtf folder i dont actually sync it. i sync the folder that has ur account name in it "wtf\account\account name. thats because the file that controls things like your graphics setting/resolution and such are outside of that folder. that why you sync ur addon settings but can have different resolutions for things like your laptop and desktop and dont have to keep adjusting the resolution or graphic settings everytime you switch computers.**

Install the software mentioned in the article.
You copy your mian addon/wtf/screenshot folder somewhere into dropbox.
Delete whatever folders u copy into dropbox off the computer.
Go to the dropbox and right click the folder there, select pick link as source.
Go to where it should be in your wow folder, right click, select Drop As.., then select symbolic link.
It will then make a link to that folder in dropbox there.

Repeat for every folder and on each every computer. and then ur all good!

Basically a symlink is a more advance version of the short cut.
Those files arent actually stored on the computer. The copy on dropbox is the only copy. When you drop a symlink you short cut back to the folder in dropbox.
But to the computer it doesnt know that, it looks like a normal folder to it. so it uses it like a normal folder.

Anyways i hope that helps you. Good luck!.
