Trinity - Wizard Class

Giles, can you please permanently remove Archon - Melee from the code, disintegrate is always more DPS.

At the moment I'm using Archon - Teleport, and once the CD of teleport returns it tp's away from elites, and then runs back in to melee distance. Its fine most of the time, but anything with fire chains = instant death lol.

Also the use of teleport vs trash mobs works fine, but for some reason it fails to teleport away from Elites half the time? Don't know if you can sort something out, I may have a go at the coding later to see if i can improve it.

Also is there any way to make it so that the bot moves away from elites once they enter a certain range? Countless times deaths occur because it stayed in one place and became stuck, instead of moving back 10f and killing. Obviously this is only applicable in Archon mode.

EDIT 2: Having looked at the teleport script I think the issue is with Melee attacks + Teleport, for some reason if it's spamming Melee it doesn't teleport away, perhaps because TP range is <15f and melee range is <13f? The overlap seems to be causing problems.

EDIT 3: Could you add in an option to remove the "use ET then use Spectral blades" spam, it's fine with a decent APS, however with lower APS it proc's about 1/3 the amount that just spamming ET till you can't anymore.

I know that you changed it to this as per request, but until 1.05 it actually decreases overall killspeed and survivability, especially against 1 elite.

I remove it every update, attached .cs has the following changes:

Melee Archon removed,
Priorities for Succubus + Fallen Firemage turned off - causing too many "must follow and kill and then get owned by hundreds of melee mobs in the process"

By melee archon, do you mean "arcane strike"? (you have to be clear with power names with me, as I don't run any of these builds or classes myself, I only run barbs and a monk!)

Yeah Strike is useless :)

Removing it has also made teleport work correctly :)
 
I've actually started to like arcane strike (archon melee), it helps when surrounded by elites. It's aoe meaning damage is better than disintegrate when there are 2 or more monsters around you - that also means you get more life with a lifeleech weapon (maybe when db is able to hold down the beam instead of short bursts it will be better).

Some advice to my fellow archon users: besides a windforce, give your scoundrel a stone of jordan ring with cold damage too and put cold blooded as one of your passives. Enjoy knockbacked+slowed monsters plus 20% more damage :) I'm really loving the bot these past few days, I'm only averaging about 1-3 deaths per hour. Thanks again for the amazing work Giles!

Thanks for the tip on the SOJ, I'll see how that improves things.

The issue I have with Strike isn't the dps as much as being in range of all attacks, Archon works much better when mobs aren't pummeling you :P

1-3 Deaths/h is impressive for a wiz. Would you mind posting/pming me your build stats and config settings?
 
It shouldn't be trying to get INTO melee range just to use arcane strike, since arcane strike does have a "&& targetCurrent.fRadiusDistance <= 13f " check on it - so it shouldn't be picking that ability for far away creatures then moving into range.

So it should only be using arcane strike when you are already AT close range.

I'm aware of the code, however when combined with teleport, it backtracks with teleport and then moves straight back into melee distance, whether or not this is because it fails to teleport more than 13f away or not I don't know.

I think adding a tickbox in to enable/disable Strike would be handy, some players will be fine sitting in melee distance if they have the stats for it, and some others may wish to disable it.

Stats are with energy armor and magic weapon: 117k dmg, 42k life, 5.8k armor, 980 all resists, 2.70% lifesteal, 9 arcane power on crit.

Trinity settings: Trigger range for trash mobs - 40, disabled health globe pickup, potion at 60% health, plague cloud avoidance at 40% health, TPS to 15

Forgot to mention, I've edited the code to recast energy armor every 60 seconds and magic weapon every 180 seconds (just search for "energyarmor" in the .cs and edit the values there - 60 seconds = 60.000 in the code). That is to ensure that I stay buffed during archon, even at the times when it casts archon and doesn't have the arcane power to rebuff right beforehand.

Done with 120k DPS, 1,3k AR, 7k Armor, 62k Life, 2,4 ATS, 892 LoH, 19 APoC

I did customize avoidance and potion use doh because default settings are kinda no good for CM Wizards.


Also since Blizzard seems hell bend on killing wizards they nerf'd proc rates of Spectral blade, Meteor and some other crap as well now.. So Meteor is no longer viable for 1.05 much the same with Spectral blades.
Wicked Wind is so far the only thing that works in 1.05 under certain conditions.. and what surprise these conditions are crazy ass gear..

2,3+ attacks per second, 45% CC more is better, 20+ APoC, Life Leech yeah you need that because LoH is worthless on 1.05 (PTR) if it stays that way.. with that you can still pull perma freeze off in 1.05:)

For me it is :P I don't have anywhere near those stats (quit and sold my 250kDps gear at 1.03) so I'm currently rebuilding :P

You'll have to rebuild soon see my post above:) Archon is useless in 1.05 at MP5+ and that's where you want to farm because there the best and most shit drops~_~

I won't be farming MP5+, there is very little point except for the keys/infernal machine drops.

Higher MP's only add 25%MF/GF per level, not worth the time to farm for normal gear, doesn't change the affixes/iLvl rates either the higher MP you are.

Edit: I already am gearing for CM, just using archon because even with more deaths, I get faster runs.

nah you notice the difference especially in unique drops they're quit frequent on MP5 compared to MP1 but well maybe with bot it will be more efficient to farm MP3 or so;)

I'm talking for botting :) I've tested MP10 and can stunlock most except single elites on it, so thats not an issue, but for botting speed will be the key - Archon!

Anyway, seems my issue is max life more than anything else, 95% of deaths occur when trapped while trying to avoid frozen.
