Hi guys.

I've been trying to run HB test release on Windows 8 RTM 64bit with no luck.
I know it's not full release, still, i was confused when ppl reported that HB runs pretty well on Windows 8 atm.
What i'm getting is whenever bot starts a combat, logs is full of "System.Exception: Process must have frozen or gotten out of sync: InjectionFinishedEvent was never fired"
And then it hangs.
WoW is in windowed mode, 32 bit, admin and no ingame addons whatsoever. HB is aswell in admin mode.
Directx is another strange thing. HB will start only in DX11 mode. DX9 will cause WoW to crash with #132 error.

I've luck to run bot previous patch 5.0.4 via HBRelog.
Nothing is changed since that time in my system.

Yeah, btw, i could not install .NET 4, since Windows 8 has .NET 4.5 build in and refuses install 4.0.
Dunno is it's matters.

Any help would be nice :)
 
we dont support Win8 yet

we will support the final version of Win8 tho
 
RTM is actually final version. Just not public open.
Release will be the same as RTM.
And i remember devs are promissed win8 support in this version.
Unlike pre-5.0.4, HB now starts and attaches to WoW. So, halfway is done.
I just dont know what i'm doing wrong since others have success running HB on that OS...

yup,we dont support Win8 yet

people were able to use Hb on Win8 via Hbrelog

from what i know Hbrelog is outdated atm
 
That's unfortunate :(
Guess, i will have to downgrade to Windows 7 in order to bot again.
Too bad, Windows 8 is really great OS compare to previous releases.

you can run HB on Windows 8 if you set wow to use directX 11,

Yep been using Win8 and Honorbuddy on Win8 Pro x64 since the first MOP dev build. Loads fine and attaches (windowed mode, not windowed full screen) with DirectX 11.
 
The riddle is solved.
I've found who's causing HB to go insane...
It was fraps. I was one step before completely reinstalling OS because of that little bastard...
As soon as i killed it, HB starts behaving awesome :)

I think programs that causing frames alter should be considered not HB compatable.

Not working for everyone, please do not take this as a final statement.

For me is not working, Win8 Pro, Directx 11, windowed. HB Crashing at start.

Please go forward with the support, windows 8 will be released soon.

post here the wow crash report(edit out char name)
 
running win8 64 (release version) with honorbuddy questing mode, wow dx11, window/fullscreen, without fraps it works for 5mins without a problem now.
with fraps it stopped like after 10-30sec while running to hotspot or else.

i guess fraps was the problem???
 
still running, using fly-paths, killing mobs, getting quests.., this motherf*cking fraps :X
 
Could you explain how to set wow to use directx 11? Is it in Windows or wow?

yes, because honorbuddy and fraps both connect to wow in a similar way it messes with honorbuddy so they cannot be run at the same time.
