How safe is buying unmerged accounts?

I brought 2 unmerged accounts last week (EU), Sent SoR, Got the upgrade. Botted them after a day or 2 just questing for a few hours nothing too risky.

Now this part is interesting - I got locked out of 1 within a couple of hours (suspicious activity),

I made a ticket, they asked for ID (I registered both in my name so I could later transfer my character) I sent the ID, they asked for more info, I sent more info, they asked for a better scan, I sent a better scan. Then they sent me an email saying the have locked BOTH accounts as THE NAME ON THE BATTLE NET ACCOUNTS (and therefore my ID) DID NOT MATCH THE ORIGINAL WOW OWNER'S NAMES. They said they would not unlock the accounts without permission from the original account owners.

For the ID they also asked that I scan it on a copy of that days newspaper!,

How safe? In my experience, Not safe at all.

u were asking for it having them look into u account....

You knew they needed lots on info to do what u were asking which requires them to look further into ur account. You had just started them up and im sure blizzard knows that botther buy those accounts. so you were asking for them to find out it wasnt yours and obviously lock it up. If you had just left as is and used them to bot they never would have looked and never would have realized ur not the same guy who owned it b4. if you had put it on ur B.Net and just tranfered it over that way you might have even got away with it. But you put a big sgn up saying "hey look at my name it dosent match the account"

Im just sharing an experience here, others here botted straight away 18+ hours with no account lock, no one had a dig at them. Why as im the only person who did I'm basically called an idiot.

Im sure waiting wouldn't have made any difference in this case as BOTH accounts were banned . they were not linked in any way other than name and even then I used 2 different versions of my name. An abbreviated version and a full version. The SoR was sent from different accounts (neither in my name). Looks like they were doing a spot check on the merged accounts to see if names matched etc. I certainly wasnt caught botting as I was supervising the accounts 100%.

As a side note, they were both banned in a single email to one of the account addresses which named both wow account names. Not an email to both bnet addresses.

where do you all get your unmerged accounts? I'd like to find out how to buy game time with gold as well. I've read about it but never asked or looked into it.
 
not tryomg to call you an idiot im sorry i may have been a bit to blunt i was just trying to give you advice so you would understand why that might not have been the best dicision and what you might do next time. again i am sorry i wasnt saying you were botting poorly just i never draw gm attention to myself Period i feel thats the safest way to do it,
 
I think you are missing the point I didnt ask them to do anything I did leave it but It was locked out for suspicious activity so I made a ticket to get it unlocked. I never asked them to do anything.

I do appreciate advice I am sorry I came off blunt too, but i never tried to draw any attention. I just tried to get it unlocked. If id have done nothing it would still be locked so I havent really done anything wrong?

Edit: Got my 2 from a seller on epicnpc.com $8 each, so no real loss.
 
I would not say its safe, got 3/4 SoR accounts disabled because of ownership verification, got them back, but now they are removing my RaF gametime everytime I buy new...
 
oh i didnt realize u were saying it was locked out b4 i thought you meant you were asking them to link it to ur account so you could tranfer toons to ur main. sorry

No problem bro, no harm done. I was merely saying why I made the accounts in my name (for an eventual transfer)

I have 2 unmerged accounts attached to different bnets and haven't had an issue yet. Plan to transer the 85 to my main account once I've done enough botting on it and maybe make it my main toon in MoP :)!

That is if it doesn't get banned first lol.
 
I bought 4 unmerged and bot them to 85. So far no problem and its been a couple months now.
