I've been botting nearly 20/7 for the past three months with no one emoting or saying anything (regarding botting) to me. Today, I got three different tells saying that they've reported me. They've all been on at the same time so they're different accounts. Is there some anti-bot trend going on that all of a sudden made people want to hunt down bots?

bot hunters have existed since the first bot.

you can use auto-reply plugins or make your own plugin which enables you to reply to whispers via MSN or IRC etc.

Here's a crazy thought.. Its really radical... DONT BOT for 20 hours a DAY!!!!!! Think about the damn logs Blizzard has. No HUMAN could ever be online farming or questing that long 20 hours a day seriously?

Look its your money, your accts, and to each his own but I laugh at the people who bot that long and are SUPRISED and upset when they get a ban. Its really just laughable.

theres no way to tell if you've been reported, just because you don't get told, "Ive Reported you" doesn't mean you haven't been reported by someone.

i bot 8/4 sometimes 14/4 but never more then 4 days a week anymore, it is just to help with the game now considering i actually play the game now lol the pvp and pve aspects haha... you should do what xcure suggested, do not bot 20/7 or close to it 7 days a week, like it was said in the past, "Only bots and teens with lots of redbull can bot that much a week" make it more human like, but either way, you are going to get reported regardless sadly.

Been botting myself a lot of hours, but the key is don't let it do the same task for that many hours. It's not going to look as suspicious if you go and say for instance.. farm ore for 3 hours, stop the bot.. run off and do some skinning for a couple of hours... farm cloth or something - come back, do a quick LFR or LFD, let the bot go back along its way after.

Does it look suspicious then? Not really. But if someone notices you in the same area hours on end, daily, every day people will notice (IMHO.) For instance, I've been letting a character quest for 6-8 hours a day, I come back log off, change characters, set that bot to farm some ore or leather for a few hours; etc etc.

i know what you mean Ab and i always swap between my characters to level professions or level the characters etc, i don't level 1 character 3 days none stop to 85, that would be a dead give away ^^ so what you said is something he can do as well, to avoid looking like a bot.

got 2 wispers last night aswell, logged on in uldum for camel figurines, within 20 secs

someone wispered me, that i was botting and that he would report me...

/facepalm

Uldum is the most popular place for FARMING so of course you would :) its called " they want you want"

if he is truly someone from this site and being a dick reporting you, then you should report them enough said, if people report you for botting, you should totally report them for botting lol see what blizz finds on them ^^

Don;t bot that long in obvious spots then.. and play legit/raid/dungeon occasionally.

shit normal people do..

i've played legit for 36 hours straight before (bathroom breaks/food but thats about it)

so fuck blizzard lol.

lol i hear you, i bot in uldum when i mine and herb quite often, and i never have issues with blizz but then again could just be server dependant, i am in an average/normal server not high. for my ally, and my horde is on a high ally populated server, i always pick servers where the other fraction is high populated, just so i can lead raids on their city, i love pvp lol
