I've used buddy products for a while now, and I must say the responses I read on the demonbuddy forum lately have gotten horrid. I realize it's a handful of users that are trolls and ignorant, but where's the moderation. A few moderators need to put some smack down on all the asshats out there before the community is driven away. Those "idiots" and "retards" that you're trolling paid for their bot just like we all did, and that money goes to support future updates as well as keep the servers going that you troll on. If a user demonstrates a bit of effort and still needs help then give him some help or constructive criticism instead of "if you can't figure out how profiles work /wrists".

There's a post where some guy claims to have gotten banned in 3 hours after running DB and the reply he got was "serves you right". Really?

I surf the forums constantly. I, like everyone else, have my own theories on bans, why they happen and how to avoid them... but sharing with a community full of trolls seems pointless. Are my theories right? Probably not, and we'll never know for sure anyway, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who has deleted a reply before hitting submit because of the attitude I gather from the community.

I know there are trolls on every web forum on every topic, but the amount I've seen here in the last few days makes me just want to check for updates and move on to the next site. (troll "don't let the door hit you on your way out")

really bad attitude around. i dont have a problem with trolls when they are funny but somehow alot of trolls around this forum ain't even close to being funny. well, i guess it is how it is.

As I've said before, report the posts and we'll get them handled. We have a lot of forums to patrol, and can't get to all the threads. We do get to most of the trolling/spamming though.

Technically you're asking for support and ideas from people that want to compete with you, we all share the one and same customer - gold buyer. I think that people troll, those that do - im not saying everyone does, do that bcuz they feel like this forum, atleast few of the sections, is treated as more of a time-waster while they have a(1-2 at most) bot(s) running in the background and feel like the ultimate farmers.

You want to be explicit and recieve good feedback? Write long- and well thought posts and you might just get one or two intelligent arguments with you. Don't expect everyone to feed you valid information when they infact are, as i said, your competitors.

I'm not arguing For the trolls, im just saying that youre expecting too much maybe..

As I've said before, report the posts and we'll get them handled. We have a lot of forums to patrol, and can't get to all the threads. We do get to most of the trolling/spamming though.

Would you consider recruiting a few forum moderators? Some well known posters or what not to help you easen up the burden.

There seem to be a few good posters and helpful souls around, who could do a bit of extra duty - some might even do it for free.

Dude, if you have something to share, even if it's only a theory, there's a thread specifically for that, and you should go ahead, you will find that if it's something thought out, people will only appreciate the unput. Don't worry about trolls, some are kids, some are just having a laugh, it's not like anyone has serious ill intentions towards you. And even if they do, no one has been stabbed over the internet before. It's more worrying when we get members who start badmouthing you because it makes them feel better about their small genitalia, but even with them, it's all sticks and stones, fuck em.

Honestly, I do think a few dedicated mods would be ok, but that could back fire on the buddy team.

Imagine they made me a mod and I start moving threads, muting people, banning, etc and I go over board and no one says anything anymore because they are in fear I will kill them...

But, I think part of the problem is the fact that we have too many gun happy wanna be mods that are actually trolls and piss takers. I mean let us be honest, most of us think we have something to add to every thread, and some of us think we know it all. For that matter some of us comment in fun not to troll, but attempt to add levity.

A mod has to be detached from what is going on and look at everything fairly and evenly according to the forum rules; often evaluating both sides even if the mod may agree or disagree with one side -> a mod should not be taking sides...

Though it comes off as me asking for the mods to do something about it that's not really what I wanted to convey from this post. I was more or less ranting that I think the forum is turning into a troll fest (esp with the bans of late).

I just got back from a trip to Chicago. During this trip I used the public transit a lot (subway, buses). During those public rides, some even in the wee hours of the night, I noticed that even the most unruly looking characters were very polite, and didn't cause any trouble on the public transportation. I was semi shocked... on my last day I happened to read the fine print on one of the signs in the subway. It said "Assaulting another passenger on Chicago Public Transit systems or an employee will result in a 10 year incarceration." 10 years? Yikes. Point being. Don't fuck around on public transit in Chicago. I love the law.

Maybe my view on trolls is skewed from my recent trip.

If it want for the community this bot would be uselss.

As you can see above with apocs response, Germans dont understand how to handle things correctly in English i doubt they understand most of what we say.
Worst community ever and the bot isnt that fare behind, the trolls here are dev and support and once you dive into the fourms a bit more and get more friendly you will see.

Kinda amusing anyone would think this bot is opensource.... no its not, we pay for it, so lets see the level of support/moderation one gets with a paid product??

Then enjoy your vacation. I've had enough of you berating all of the staff here, and customers alike. If you feel you can be civil and not an uppity 10 year old with a superiority complex, feel free to ask to be let on our forums again.

To everyone else; I've had enough of the constant flame-baiting. I'm starting to hand out bans from now on. If you can't be civil, don't bother posting. Plain and simple.
