Disclaimer:
First of all I know there's a large amounts of bans going on, but for educational purposes lets pretend they're not because im about to invest 700 into a rig. I currently have a build prices out at NCIX.ca ( a locale computer place) for 800 dollars.

Threads purpose (and why you should contribute if you have the knowledge):: While obviously I'm curious for my own needs hopefully there will be enough input of value that this thread can act as a resource for people hoping to build computers with a similar purpose at a similar price. I will try to compile a list of good deal bi-daily.

The goal:
I currently have a build prices out at NCIX.ca ( a locale computer place) for 800 dollar range. The build is as follows

Graphics card radeon HD 6950 1gb -140 (from a friend :D)

Harddrive
OCZ Vertex 3 120GB 2.5IN SATA3 6Gbps SandForce - 109.99

Proc Intel Core i5 3570k

powersupply unknow 50-90?

mobo MSI H61MA-E35 (B3) H61 mATX LGA1155 DDR3 - 80

Ram 94 dollars (16gb)

cooling
20

*******Total: 740+ tax***********

The purpose:: Purpose of this computer will be to bot 10-12 db bots 20 hours a day, with minimal impact on comp (ei can do other stuff without lagging).

-trying to build this particular computer for 700 after tax, seeing what sort of ideas you guys can come up with for shaving off some dead weight off this build, thanks for read and your input.

10-12 bots is going to put loads of stress on the 2500k, if it can even handle that many. No dead weight, you need to add weight. Maybe a z77 or z78 mobo to oc? Memory is good at 16gb, can't say much for the GPU I don't know much on the AMD cards.

1) Get a z68 or z77 motherboard (the h61 won't cut it),
2) A good PSU (reputable brand like Seasonic/Silverstone and 650W)
3) A very good cpu heatsink/fan (like the Noctua D-14, for OC purposes).
4) Change the Vertex 3 to a Crucial M4 (Crucial M4 128GB 2.5" SATA III Solid State Drive (SSD)) Faster and cheaper.

The rest looks fine.

I would also get a 3570k instead of a 2500k CPU along with a Z77 mobo. It's gonna add to the price, but it's the best option. Also agree on getting a Crucial M4 SSD.

UFEngi: true but you can get a 2500k for cheap now but arguably the 3570k has power savings in the long run.

its not Ncix specific but i do save on shipping costs, i appreciate the input so far! My rl buddy said that a 2500k oc >3570k
your thoughts?

update going with 3570k, same price obvious choice! good job guys
