The Situation
Selling nothing... and if you lookup prices, people spamming the market with 2 ? and below priced items. This way the only one who is making a deal is Blizzard. And people with to much money are probably surfing right now on Hawaain waves. Maybe with some cooler temperatures things will get better.

The Outlook

Chances are that with a future patch, possibly with more "New" content, enough people come back to revitalize AH deals.

Conclusion

Seriously meh market now

If I had originally supported the rmah being introduced into this game I would say Gee what a shame.
But since I really think it was such a huge underlying reason D3 became such a sh*t game compared to D2, I cant help but laugh... Until i found DB to make me financially independent via rmah!
In the end it doesn't matter that it flopped already since bliz made their money on it.
How is the GAH responding on EU?

The EU AH has definitely crumbled - the last 7 to maybe 10 days seems to have really crucified it. Both the RMAH, AND the gold AH, are really, really bad.

You can still sell items. And people do still buy them. But there's no consistency, many times things go for way, way under what they would normally sell for only two weeks ago - and because it's happened so suddenly, many people are still listing things for prices from two weeks ago and making it impossible to try and value anything by simply "looking at similar items and undercutting them a bit".

The ~72 hour downtime and all the bugs we had on the EU AH this week hasn't helped matters either, with people paniccing, particularly because AH timers (including on the RMAH) continued and items were being sold with only the initial low-bid on, and we had random AH rollbacks, AH would come up and go down, items were appearing on the AH with corrupted data, and the technicians didn't seem to have a clue what was wrong or how to fix it. A lot of confidence in the system got lost from this alone, and there wasn't much confidence to begin with.

Even from the launch of the RMAH, the US RMAH was clearly superior - there seem to be far more people in the US willing to splash out a lot of real money for digital items - the EU doesn't seem to have quite so many... but also the EU also encompasses people from many different countries - 1 Euro is worth a lot more to people from the eastern-European countries than it is to say a player from Germany, Netherlands, France or the UK, so prices of items get undercut a LOT more. (at least with the US RMAH, $1 is worth $1 to everybody using it, just about).

Pre-botting, I'd have been laughing at this, and rubbing my hands with glee, pointing at Blizzard and going "HAHAHA YOU FAIL! Greedy sods". Post-botting, my thoughts are "Oh bollox, I was making some good money here, but it didn't last long!".

Pointing out the EU currency imbalances within the region is something I never thought of.

Good post Giles.

Making 60 € a day with rmah out of 10kk botted a day. its not dead at all. just search your spot.

I agree with you Giles. east europe countries aka russia poland etc should have their own AH really :S

Yes, so dividing the AH into multiple smaller AHs will certainly help revitalize the European market and boost up sales for everyone!!!!

Well yeah East European countries are certainly not the people BUYING the most stuff from RMAH, but probably selling the most if u wanna make a ratio, im sure they win ;)

No shit. This game sucks and has no lifespan. When I said it in week two, I got flamed to death...

You're still alive, obviously.
But guess what, no one gives a fuck what you think about the game. If you don't like it, don't play it. Simple as that.
