US AH down because new gold dupe?

Noticed US AH went down, read on blizz forums there is a new gold dupe selling/buying/refunding with chipped gems. Any truth behind this? I'm sure it's been fixed now.
 
I was just on the US AH like two minutes ago, bought, sold and collected expired and won auctions.
 
I see gold sellers spamming chat 1mil for as low as $1.40 now. Might be more profitable to just buy gold and buy off GAH to sell on RMAH soon lol.
 
This is already the "thing" to do at the moment. GAH > RMAH is the most profitable thing to do right now.... Its called the "RMAH Shuffle" or "Gold Flipping".

EDIT: Also note: ToU - 11.B.iii "(iii) use the Auction Houses as an investment vehicle;" - If they see that you are making to many GAH purchases and selling the same items on the RMAH. They can (and have ...) ban you.

Definitely seems like something's going on. I've held on to a HUGE stock of gems for a while now since 1.0.3 but price has been kept stable and low. Suddenly it spikes up from 200 to 500g in about an hour on euro AH.

Its actually called arbitrage.
 
If anyone AH is still down, restart your computer, that should fix it. Worked for me.
 
If you buy 100 gems, it gives you back 5000 as a refund for some reason... Then you just put them back up for sale, and you made 5000g by spending like 100k... and they sell almost immediately afterwords because everyone's doing this. lol
 
I wouldn't trust it now, though... if peoples' clients are going down to fix it, you'll just waste some gold at this point. It'd been active for a day, supposedly.

blizzard finally caught on, well since its no use anymore here it is

- you can manipulate the market - well you used to be able to manipulate the market. 30mill was enough to buy out the entire chipped gem market, once bought out you could then re list 20-30 of them at a high price and then buy them. "last 10 sale" price then goes up 100 fold, list all the gems you just bought back onto the market at the higher price - they would sell. I don't know why they would sell.. its as if blizzard buys gems or soemthin to keep the markets moving, either that or there are a LOT of stupid players out there...

i tihnk enough people now know that the above is useless now - otherwise i wouldnt post it :)
 
i think too many people are trying to do what i used to do above - so now the price is stuck too high to buyout the market
