my new crucial 128gb m4 ssd just came in and i just installed it with windows 7. now my question is how should i use the new ssd? im still on my old drive cuz all the drivers are on here and i seen on the hard disk drivers option under the new ssd readyboost. it says its used to speedy up the current driver with the new ssd driver. should i just use that option or should i just completely switch over everything to my ssd and use my old hdd for readyboost.

basically whats the best way of using these two drives simultaneously?

thx :D

install windows, diablo, and other programs on the ssd and use the old hard drive for storage.

Windows, Diablo 3 & DB, and any other frequently used programs. Everything else, on HDD. Readyboost turns flashable memmory into vRam, So I'm fairly certain you cant use a HDD for readyboost.

Yep, as the others said.

However i did this because its more better for operation.

1: Buy a 60gig SSD or more. - Use for your windows operating system ONLY.
2: Buy a 120+ SSD or More. - Use for most used programs on a daily basis.
3: Use HDD Mechanical for all other storage means.

Thats my current set up, The reason why i use a stand alone 60+gig is because if shit hits the fan i can always just reload the OS and my files are still intact for other things.

If you have money (or dont) download load copy of paragon disk sweet. It allows you to specifially transfer what you need from you disk if you don't want to redo everything. My advice is save all your files you need on an external drive and then reset the machine to factory. Then Use Paragon or a similar Hdd-Os to SSD software. if you don''t like the idea then do it manually.

install SSD as secondary and save the re installing of windows, put your swap file and programs you use often to the SSD

if you dont want to reinstall the program, then copy over the program folder from Profile Files, or where ever and use Mklink to make a "shortcut" to where it is on the SSD.
