So, after some research I've found out that at first DB was like this, and just stashed the items Unid'ed.

according to Apoc: (wrote this in the Lootrules guide)
Q:How do I let it identify stuff, because I haven't seen the bot identify anything yet, and you can't vendor unidentified items.
A:3) ID'ing isn't built in just yet. (We'll probably do this via a plugin just to show an example) The API to do so is there though!

I was wondering if there's a solution to get this back? as there are ways to sell the unidentified items for a lot, it would really help out!

Regards,

Regards,

Who wants to buy an unidentified item??

Ilvl 63 unid weapons go for 1mil - 1.5mil each ;-)

jewelry: <60 : 100k each
+60 : 500k each
63 : 700k each

I can go on forever about armor pieces aswell ;-).

Thats bizarre. i dont get it lol. Why would they buy something that could be terrible. and also why would you want to sell something for 1.5 million when you could ID it and have something worth 10million or more?

or potentially be a bargain for that amount? gambling... :) it goes both ways ofcourse hehe.

But sorry drifted off, would really appreciate it if someone has some info about this

In diablo 2, I would fill accounts of just rare gloves, druid helms, or boots from hell. People would pay tons of forum gold (on d2jsp) for that kind of thing. I just botted constantly and didn't want to bother with identifying and selling. Probably could have been some godly stuff in there though.

This isn't D2 though. Loot tables are FAR more complex now. In D2 Uniques were almost always worth something. Legendaries are crap (atm) and Rares are the true king of "gearing" out.

That being said however. I hope you find what your looking for. Would be interesting to see if it can still be done. Just don't see a reason to do it anymore. :(

i completely agree - would LOVE to be able to stash the legendaries and rares as unid'd -- people are paying tons for this!

Where exactly are you seeing these being sold "for tons"? Considering you can't RMAH an Unid item. General chat surfing?

and that's the whole point, it's so complex that (taking my luck into account) it's probably the way to go for me hehe

The problem lies in the fact that there are some clever people out there who found out that item stats are determined when it is dropped, not when it is identified. So the game client must store those stats in memory somewhere. Writing a program to read that space in memory would be .. lucrative. You could tell which ones were going to roll good and roll them and sell them, and tell which were going to be garbage and sell them unid.

Did you play Diablo 2 much? People would always trade unidentified uniques like annihilis charms and people would buy them for the gamble. A site called d2jsp.org (among others) sprang up to arrange trades. Many of the most geared players would use the site. With the emergence of Diablo 3, people still like the gamble, but for primarily for high ilvl rare items. I've personally sold 2 hellion crossbows for 3 million gold. Those could have been worth 100s of millions, but the chances are slim and I took the guaranteed money.

So anyway, d2jsp.org is still used to arrange trades. Along with it being easier to find trades, there isn't a 15% fee on the transactions which makes sellers more likely to sell and buyers can find better deals.

Yes. I did. I still do in fact. My comment (clearly) was in reference to D3 Unid items. In D2 you knew what the item was with Unique unids. Legendary items are not the best items in D3 atm (yet) - Rare items are. And you never know what a Rare will be. I do however understand that some people do enjoy the gamble.

Well that being the case. Have you tried using a Rare+ only loot rule with say something like:

Code:
<!-- Pick up only Rare+ items -->
      <ItemRule>
        <StatRules>
          <Rule quality="Rare4" />
        </StatRules>
      </ItemRule>

Please implement a loot rule function that would disable identifying a rare please and ty.

asked customer support couple of days back, got the reply, that they are looking into it.

a 1 million gold gamble for a 100 million gold weapon? makes sense to me.

some people cant be bothered to sort through a stash full of items, rather just sell it all for a set price :) Id be interested in this also lmk how it turns out

Right, but if you played D2 a lot, you would know that the difference between sub par and perfect uniques could be huge. For example, people would trade accounts full of stuff for a perfect anni whereas mediocre ones are common, and a perfect maras could be worth a few hrs more than a 22. Along with that, a unique sacred armor could be tyrael's or templar's. A lot of the best items in the game were actually not uniques.

D3 is the same concept. I highly recommend going to d2jsp.org and looking around. The gear some people have blows my mind.
