i just read about a huge banwave on AH bots and read about few of our members who got banned from using DB (as they claimed).
out of concern, do we have any forum or thread dedicated to this matter? or is it against the rule of DB forum?

and did anyone get banned from only using DB besides the ones we already know of?

Probably using a AH bot.... Ive been using DB 24/7 since they came out and did not get banned on any of my accounts. Sounds like people aren't telling the whole truth

i really dont think they got banned from using DB, because ive been botting at least 6-12hrs a day if DB permits me to do so lol. I am botting right now as im typing this, 3 bots. i have trust in buddyteam, thats why i started this thread to know if there is anyone who only used DB and got banned

It is a bit unlikely that DB is detected. If it was, we'd have a truckload of ban reports. The (very few) reports that come in now coincide with people being banned for AH botting (and perhaps also ZK exploiting). Not saying the people reporting their bans here have been doing either of those things, but maybe Blizzard didn't double and triple check before they hit their big red ban button, and thus a few "innocents" got banned as well.

Define real ban, because it feels pretty real to me right now O.o

or assume that they THINK they know. I have been botting pretty much 2-3 days straight just minor hiccups. So you got banned due to human error. Auction House bans? You deserve it. Using Auction House bots is stupid. You are basically toying with our sales in these forums.

her diktat I read ur thread. is there anything else u can tell us besides ones we already know. such as how long and often u have botted and how much gold did u make with each profile?

It's funny how flamed you get for reporting that DB just MIGHT have been the cause of a ban. People need to grow up and accept that this bot isn't perfect and bans can happen without every DB user getting canned.

people get skeptical because its likely that if the bot was "detected" then there would be a lot more than just 1 person saying theyve been banned

the thing is, as mentioned by many people, is that blizzard is probably going to try to detect a lot of people through data analysis. There is a good chance that people are getting flagged and reviewed by real people, and that doesnt happen all at once. If we see a trickle of people reporting bans, then we know that it is likely that is what's happening and they are searching for patterns.

How do people not feel stupid saying "detected". If you honestly think blizzard cant tell exactly who is botting and who isn't then I've got some land you need to buy. It's pretty obvious that botting is part of their business model being as it brings in a bunch of subscriptions/users and can easily be used as an extra source of income as the majority of botters will always rebuy the game once they've been banned.

I know this sounds feasible, but do you have any PROOF?! This isn't proof but my cousin works for blizzard (not in software engineering dept) and he has said from what he's heard around the water cooler, is that everyone there hates and resents botters, and there is no intended leniency. It would be a major scandal within the company if they were incorporating bots into the business model.

Corporations doing unethical things for money? No wai. As with most conspiracies I don't imagine the management/owners would make this common knowledge for obvious reasons ;)

Edit: I mean come on how hard would it be for them to check these forums, plant beta testers for bots, hire one smart asian to figure out exactly how these programs run. They pull in more money each day than these bots will ever make and you're telling me they can't stop it if they really wanted to?

Considering Blizz has thousands of employees and it would take only ONE disgruntled one with an ID of his blizz employee card that also knew about this, he could cause a PR nightmare, possible lawsuits, and a MAJOR hit in company value if this ever surfaced... it leads me to believe that it would never happen. I mean, botting IS going to devalue item worth, which means a hit in bottom line for them. And how many players bot, maybe like 1% of accounts are botting accounts, which means they would stand to gain an extra 1% in account sales revenue every banwave, minus the loss in RMAH tax, which probably exeeds that 1%. Sorry, I just don't see it happening, it's not remotely logical.
