As the title implies, does anyone else run a melee tank wizard? I'd like to swap builds and/or talk about the viability. I've been rolling with one for a good 40+ non bot hours and I was thinking of places of improvement.
Honestly, I didn't know if that's what you were asking.
I tried a few setups, up to 700+ in every resist... Everything just felt too squishy. (I play a wiz as main, when playing manually.) Going full nuke just seems way more efficient. If you choose to do a battle mage, it should probably only be for fun. That's just my opinion though.
well i know it has lots to do with itemization and those items are priced pretty outrageously right now. IE perfectly rolled string of ears with blur passive. im at 38.5% melee reduction if im not mistaken. im going for a justice lantern next then to a storm shield. i know what you mean though, my guy had 900 all resist and he still got shit on, then again i didnt roll his stats correctly
I am just curious, with that setup... what was your HP/DPS? It seems that if you are that focused on resists and reduction, you are not very high DPS. I was at around 40k DPS with mine.
Damage for my battle mage is kind of an interesting thing. Of course I use the acid hydra but I also use a shield that gives me a bonus 12% to my spectral blade damage. I'm going through a regearing of my mage but basically im aiming for crit and crit damage. I'm stacking a shit ton of LoH. I'll post a picture after this run, keep in mind though I dont have the best gear in the world
Well i have 985 LoH right now with 906 HP per second. I'm also using CM to boost Diamond skin. Even with the nerf its pretty damn nifty. Almost done with the run btw
Isn't this basically known as the "Lazy" wizard build, basically once geared out properly you just tank everything? The post I read the Wiz was sitting at 40k DPS (buffed) or so and his ATKSPD was 2/sec and a higher LoH. He was tanking Lashers, I don't really remember what his defensive stats were but I'd imagine at least 600+ resist all and maybe 800 physical.
Lazy wizard? I do this because it's an off meta build and it's enjoyable. If all I wanted to do was to sit around and tank things I'd just be a warrior or a monk.
