Where am I going wrong ?

Right, I'm pretty annoyed now. On the 11th of May (1week ago) I bought HB. I read all the guides, set up according to all the videos, pictures and tutorials across the forums and it was really easy which is a great thing.

I started botting @ 69 when a friend botted 1-69 so we set off together. He is now level 80 with a smooth working bot, I am still 71.. is this a joke?

I've ran the bot near enough 24/7 except the times where the bot has crashed or w/e, I don't think I have ever run the bot for ONE whole successful night or day. It constantly crashes, dies or sometimes just closes down. It's a joke the amount of errors I get 30mins into botting and right now I feel like I have no other choice but to make this post and hope someone can help me.

I've made a couple posts in an attempt to fix my problem, first time I got told to reset my files which never helped but I found using a custom priest profile it helped some of the problems I had.. So after that I thought I might be able to bot better, but NO. My game started crashing more frequently so I made another post with attachments to my logs, One reply advised me to try HB2, so I did and that never helped anything.. Realised that the version is not stable so I went back to 1.331. After that I got told that the reason my game was crashing was due to a meshing problem when my character died. So I followed the instructions and kept Meshing a new route when I died. Then another problem came along that when I overwrote the Mesh file it was become 0KB in size. These are not all the problems I have, constantly one thing or another and in the end ive gotten 3levels in 1week...

I've tried new profiles, but then I found more bugged mobs where they kept evading my hits for hours on end. I tried to overwrite meshes to solve my crashing problem but that just caused more problems. I've tried every single custom priest profile to try help with other things and none of them get updated because all the creators are spending there time on HB2 profiles which is not even stable??

I'm on a 71 Shadow Priest, tried every single profile for my level and I've even tried to make one but I always have problems. Anyone else in the same boat or is this only me??

Wow :( I haven't used HB to level a priest since I already have 2. Wish I could offer up some advice, maybe Tony or Ski can help you when they get on. You should be doing 2-3 levels a day is my guess at level 69ish. HB2 has a mesh system built in and I used it for my warrior, but I'm not sure that is the answer to your problem. Just wait for Tony or Ski or even one of the other devs :)

edit: if you have a log you could attach as well, maybe that might help in solving this problem. :)

Alright, I'm going to approach this step-by-step so we don't miss anything. If I ask you to do something you already have, please oblige me.

1. You're using 1.331, that's good and stable.
2. You're using Khryses 1.14, which I believe is stable.
3. You've configured it, it looks fine.
4. You're using a horde 72-76 profile. Can you post that profile xml?
5. I know you mentioned several different issues, can you be more specific about what you're having trouble with right at this moment? When you place your priest in the profile area and hit start, does it begin moving and casting? What is limiting your xp/hr that is slowing you down? Is the profile too difficult for your gear/level?

Ok il try be more specific, this is what happens when I attempt to bot.

I load my game and log in the bot fine, I check all my settings over and press start. It completes the spellbook, buffs itself and starts attacking mobs. I leave it for a few hours and when I get back I always find a problem, recently I come back to find it attacking a mob on a hill of some sort and the mob keeps evading the hits, I look at the log and it seems like it was trying to kill it for quiet some time. So I tried a new profile (72-76) and I found I die quiet alot, this is expected as the level range is slightly above mine. Half the time when I die it runs back to the body and carrys on, but yet when I come back to the pc sometimes its died and jus stands there.. So I followed Tony's instructions and overwrote the mesh file whilst tracking my steps back to the corpse. Then this made the Mesh file become 0KB, searched that problem and it seems like im not the only one. When it just "stands" there it logs out eventually and I come back to find I have earned next to no XP.

I think priests are just hard to bot, It's my first character but because Shadow spec is the only supported spec in 1.331 I have no choice, It's slow on killing mobs and even when the mob is nearly dead it starts to cast "Vampuric Touch" and if you dont play rpiest, it should be used on the enemy at the start of the fight.. not near the end. I only tried this profile for one night just to experiment. Do you think I should get new gear? 7k hp buffed and 8k mana. Every profile I use never has the perfect spell rotation and other people have said this, So it takes time to kill mobs which limits it.

If you've overwritten you're mesh, you might want to try re-downloading the original.

For the profile issue(s), try blacklisting the mob or even the location that it gets stuck on. Then the bot should avoid that mob/location in the future.

The profile you posted may be tough for priests, since it has multiple adds which priests could have trouble with. Priest botting in general is a little tough due to their fragility, but it's certainly doable. The issues with spell rotation are with the CC, so you may want to post in the CC thread or get in touch with the CC Dev to see if they can help resolve the CC issue(s).

I did re download the original and im trying to use it again, It kills the same mob all over the place, I'm not sure how it works, if I blacklist that mob will it avoid that TYPE of mob? or that exact mob when it respawns?

And I have posted in the CC thread, but there spending there time on HB2 CC's, so understandably cant work on the old version
 
To make it avoid certain mobs, find the NPC name and number on Wowhead.com.

example:

If you wanted to avoid Drakkari Collossus, go to http://www.wowhead.com/npc=29307

Then add the following line to the profile:

Sorry, had some work to do and didn't get a chance to look earlier. It looks like you've just been experiencing Murphy's Law to an extreme extent (If something can go wrong, it will go wrong). All of your incidents are indeed separate bugs that just came together to own you for some reason. Rest assured it was nothing you did.

For the bugged mob, you can add in some code to the CC that checks to see if a mob is not losing hp after a certain amount of time and to blacklist it, but that's fairly advanced to do.

For the profile issue, it sounds like the mesh is only extended to part of the graveyard, and not other parts. Extending it is of course the correct thing to do, but there was a bug in 1.331 that made it so some systems would create a 0kb mesh instead of the actual one.

In your situation, I would make sure my gear is as good as reasonably can be. If the horde profiles for that range are buggy or too hard, there is an alliance profile that fights the caribou and gorlocs around Borean at that level, I'd edit that and take out the vendors, at least for a level or two until the harder profile was viable.
 
You may want to add a blackspot of the specific location where the mob is.

Open up HB and navigate to the spot that you want to avoid. On one of the tabs (can't remember which one, I'm at work) and there is a button for "My Location". If you click that, it should give you the coordinates for your current location. Take that and add it to the profile.

I had some trouble with standing at GY after death. Now I'm using the latest HB2 release (Quest Beta 2) and have no problem at all. Acctiually leveling a priest among others atm. I would recomend you dl HB2 instead. It's just WAAAY betther imo.

I'l try it tonight, Is there more risk of getting banned with the servers shutting down? is it a good idea to not bot tonight.. or bot until the servers are off?
 
Ok I'm updating with the latest stuff

Last night it succesfully ran the whole night and kept going when I woke up, it farmed a nice amount of XP and I was really pleased.

What I did -

Updated Gear
New glyphs, Mana upkeep was greatly improved (almost never ran out)
Updated talents
Went back to kill mobs lower level.

The problem was if I die, game crashes. So just need to make sure I dont die!

However, I came home today after around 6hours of botting and it got me around 2bars of XP ?? Found it glitching on a Mob, I cant post full Log because of the size and I don't want to make a new one, I want to find out the problem before so im copying a chunk from it. (Thank god it didnt die, atleast this is a minor problem that when solved means that I can bot without worries)

HB1, if your editing it, do you mind making it use Flash Heal and Renew ?
